On December 10, 2014 at approximately 1600 hours, a Deputy from the Worcester County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to Walmart in Berlin, MD for a reported theft. Upon arrival, the Deputy met with Walmart asset protection specialists who had Cornell Brinkely Smith, 30, of Millsboro, DE in custody. Walmart asset protection advised the Deputy that Smith had stolen a number of items totaling $587.73 in value, and showed the Deputy video surveillance which revealed Smith pushing a shopping cart containing goods out the front door without paying. Smith was placed under arrest and a criminal citation was issued. Smith was released upon signing the citation.
