Welcome Back to Fishing!

Now through January 31, 2015, Marylanders who have not bought an annual nontidal or tidal fishing license since 2011 will automatically enjoy a 50% discount on their fishing license purchase.

It’s as simple as logging into the DNR Compass Licensing System or visiting a DNR Service Center or a tackle shop to buy a 2015 license. The discount is automatic, but only through January, 2015.

The promotion is designed to encourage anglers to return to Maryland waters and enjoy the excellent fishing the state has to offer.

Fishing is one of the best values in life, promoting quality time in nature with friends and family.

For a limited time, the already low cost of entry is just 50% better.

Welcome Back.

  1. The prohibitive State recreational permit and fee prices cost Maryland small businesses upwards of 50 million dollars a year in sales.
Maryland has basically chosen to preemptively fine people that want to fish.
    Millions choose not to bother.

  2. The promotion is designed to rake in MONEY the state can waste away on enforcing more stupid regulations..

  4. I stopped buying them years ago. Haver waterfront property and only fish from my property = no license needed.

    1. Absolutely 11:28. I'm in the same boat as you. Just got my license last week and paid full price. I think I'll fish in DELAWARE next year!

  7. Md. may be finding out people will only pay so much. Md. probably needs more people fishing so the dnr can collect their fines. Go to the public ramp in OC this summer and look at the dnr raking it in. Welcome to Md.
