WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Barack Obama asked Congress on Monday for $263 million for the federal response to the civil rights upheaval in Ferguson, Missouri, and is setting up a task force to study how to improve modern-day policing.
The funds would pay for body cameras for police officers to use and expand training for law enforcement in an attempt to build trust in communities such as Ferguson, where a grand jury decided not to indict a white police officer in the August shooting death of an unarmed black teenager, the White House said.
Philadelphia police commissioner Charles Ramsey and Laurie Robinson, a George Mason University professor who is a former assistant attorney general, will lead the task force on 21st century policing, officials said.

HEY OBAMA,
ReplyDeleteHow about we send YOU and Holder to special training as YOU were the ons who incited these riots in the first place.
I see now that the black community doesn't agree with the training all Law Enforcement has been through and now you want to customize it for the special wants and needs of the black community.
Enough is Enough!
Kidding, right?!?!?!
ReplyDeleteObummer and Mr Hold my hand is sure pissing people off.
ReplyDeleteCivilized people simply don't put up with nor understand this mentality. Heaven help those who get in the way of these heathens.
"setting up a task force to study how to improve modern-day policing."
ReplyDeleteThis is an easy one. Modern day policing can and will be improved when blacks learn how to become good parents and not just baby machines. When they start being good examples and teaching their children to be honest citizens.
When their children have both a mother and a father who are positive role models in their lives.
When they decide to stop the lying and blaming all their failures on everyone else.
This is it in a nutshell. No more no less. All their problems have been caused exclusively by them and either they are too dumb to see it or too dishonest to admit it.
"Task Force on 21 st century policing" ? Like What? How to Ignore the Evidence and the Facts? Crooked Barry Obama and Crooked Al Sharpton incited all those riots and now they want us, the Taxpayers to pay for it? No Way! Talking about helping black community - make Sharpton pay all those millions of dollars he owes to IRS and every black man in Fergusson, MO would be driving a Cadillac.
ReplyDeletePolice cameras can't cost that much. Congress should tell him to take a hike. Here is a chance for Democrats to find their spine and tell hem no.
ReplyDeleteJust take the police out of those neighborhoods and put in upstanding neighborhoods. When they kill each other and burn that part of town down they might understand. Probally not. Cheaper in many ways doesnt cost tax payers, welfare goes down, and less lockups so less crowded prison system.
ReplyDeleteThese police cameras are a crock. What this is, is the camera lobby padding Sharpton's pockets.
ReplyDeleteCameras will not help. We've seen the dishonesty and the refusal to accept the evidence including evidence gathered by the FBI and the Justice Dept and independent witnesses hired by the family. They would just say the video was doctored because you can't fix dishonesty and lies and the refusal to accept personal responsibility.
These people have deep rooted moral problems and addressing that is what needs to happen for any solutions to happen.
510 has hit the head on the mai..but who created that mess..?democrats thats who ...and l now the robbery begins again...FEAR FEAR DIVIDE CREATE HOSILITY big money contracts 2 friends for the body cameras
ReplyDeleteF.U. Those riots were started and orchestrated by Obama and Holder, and Congress needs to defund any federal help for Ferguson. Those inmates were given the Grand Jury facts and let Mr. "Burn it DOWN" guide their own decisions.
ReplyDeleteNow you all have burned down your own town.
If one day I decide to burn down my own house, I fully expect to be without a house on my property until I buy a new one out of my own pocket.
Your property is no different than mine, except I keep my cool and my house.
I guess you guys missed the 18 billion in LE fed assistance since 09'. Or maybe you were all for increased police accountability before you were against it.
ReplyDeleteFerguson residents 'have made their own bed' - now let them lay in it. There should be no taxpayer bailout.
ReplyDeleteIf they want to rebuild Ferguson, then let the flame spoken race baiters like Al Sharpton & Jesse Jackson foot the bill. Afterall, aren't they the ones that should be held to be responsible for what happened in Ferguson!!!
Not one taxpayer penny to the lowlife thugs. Do not let evil prevail. Justice was served! No justice, no peace. We already have rights for baby killers and homos, what's next, thugs rights? I don't think so.
ReplyDeleteOutta control and needs to have his wings cut.....defund it all!
ReplyDeleteI have a better idea B.O., you, holder, Sharpton, farakahn split the cost. leave us out of it.
ReplyDeleteAhahaha Philadelphia police commissioner. He should police his own city before trying to police another city.
ReplyDeleteWhen I want something I save up for it. OweBama should do the same to fund his Hugs for Thugs plan. Parking the jet for a couple of months should free up the cash he wants.
ReplyDeleteRidiculous!
This is interesting and would explain why the family fought to keep his juvenile records sealed.

I took it upon myself to have a nose around and it seems very possible that Saint Michael could have been involved in a murder while still a juvenile.
While his records were not released, a statement was, by the courts, stating that he was NEVER FOUND DELIQUENT (key phrase) of a Class A or B felony. Delinquent being the juvenile version of guilty/ convicted.
So this seems taken at face value, to support the Saint Michael, Gentle Giant story line.
But..... Not so fast! Pay attention to the weasel words of the court official carefully: "Michael Brown was never found delinquent [CONVICTED] of the juvenile equivalents of any Class A or B felony charges ...."
In other words, Michael Brown may have been CHARGED with one or more serious A or B-level felonies that were pleaded down to lesser felonies.
The careful wording (spin) of the court weasel screams out that Saint Michael did more than likely than not, have an extensive and serious juvenile record.
If he hadn't been involved in a murder they would have simply said he wasn't charged with a murder while a juvenile.
