Report: NFL never asked for video of Ray Rice elevator assault

The NFL never asked Revel Casino for the elevator security tape that showed Ray Rice knocking out his future wife, TMZ reported Tuesday, citing sources.

The casino would have given a copy of the tape to the NFL, sources said, as it gave copies to the police and Rice's lawyer. But the league didn't ask for it.

So when Commissioner Roger Goodell handed Rice a two-game suspension, it was without seeing the video, TMZ reports, and based on the statement released by Rice and his then-fiancee, Janay Palmer, that both of them were involved in the physical altercation.

  1. The termination was strictly for PR. His now wife is a grown woman and knows who and what she is dealing with but for whatever reason chooses to do so. Perhaps a LAWSUIT on Rice's behalf should be the next step.

  2. The NFL is supposed to be our conscience now? Play football and leave the rest to the courts to determine guilt/punishment.
Now he has to go beg a Canadian football team for a job, eh.

  3. Of course they didn't.The elimination of contributing factors is common sense.Don't ask, don't tell.

  9. Yeah, I just read an article where she is claiming the media and public opinion has "ruined" the life of her best friend.

Well honey, with a friend like that you definitely do not need enemies. I can tell you this. If a man will hit you like that one time--he will hit you like that again. You can take that to the bank. I don't want to hear all the BS stories about how you all were drinking, or even that you spit in his face ( as I read in one article). Now I am not saying that it is okay to hit him or to spit in his face but let me just say this. This is a man who has swapped spit with you many times. He has swapped body fluids with you. Therefore, even if you did spit in his face, and I don't know because I wasn't there, that is no justification for him to knock you out with one punch.

But then again, you turned around and married him after this happened so I think that says something also. I think the whole NFL is rife with men who behave in just this way. And I think it goes all the way back to high school and college and right on up to the NFL. They are treated like they are "special" because they can handle a ball. If they slap a girl, or rape a girl, or even worse, it gets swept under the rug because they are "special."

  11. The NFL is a part of the effort to effect social conditioning.

    Men are bad.

Women should not be with men.

That is a very clear message coming from "Hollywood" (the media social engineers).

You will also see the NFL players wearing PINK RIBBONS and so on. They are tools. Cogs in the wheel of social conditioning.

  16. 10:47 Why do churches?

12:45 STHU, you're a fool and have zero clue what drivel is coming out of your fingers.

This whole thing is screwed. They should have made new rules, and investigated all of the footage, then hit Rice with a 6 game, as they determined would work for the first offense. This new suspension, and firing by the Ravens, will be a fight, and one that Rice should win. The 2 videos have been out there since February, the one in the elevator came out and was quickly pulled from the internet. They did see it, and Rice was honest about what happened in there. She hit him, he hit her, they were both drunk and belligerent. Hell, they just reinstated a guy who killed his friend for DUI.
