Ravens Fans, Men And Women, Wear Ray Rice Jerseys At Thursday Night Game

Music blared from the purple bus, and Baltimore Ravens fan Racquel Bailey stood with drink in hand amid her usual tailgate buddies while making a bold fashion statement: a black, rhinestone-decorated jersey with the white No. 27.

A Ray Rice jersey.

"There's two sides to every story," said the 23-year-old waitress from Baltimore. "I saw the video. That's their personal business, and it shouldn't have affected his career. I don't agree with domestic violence, but she's still with him, so obviously it wasn't that big of a deal. Everyone should just drop it."

Ravens fans male and female, young and old, arrived for Thursday night's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers debating the events that have affected their team over the last few days. Their once beloved running back has been kicked off the team and banned by the NFL after a video surfaced that showed him punching his then-fiancee — and now wife — inside an Atlantic City hotel elevator.

  2. Like the one person said, it is his personal business, BUT, when an owner says he don't want his wife bringing her black lover and friends to his teams games, he is supposed to suffer for what is his private business. I hate this double standard crap!

  4. So, if she allegedly spits on me, and I drop her where she stands, that’s cool with her?

  5. Everybody knows Ray Rice punched her lights out in the elevator. But, does anyone know what the argument was before he punched her? Did she threaten him? Did she pull a knife on him? I think judgment should be reserved until we know the whole story.

  7. I don't need to know the whole story. If she married him after this event she deserves and wants whatever happens. Not worth my time to read it.

  8. 7:17, does it really matter what the argument was about? She clearly didn't have any weapons in the video and so what if she threatened him? He's an NFL football player and she's a 110 pound woman. No excuse that you or anybody else can come up with will ever make it right. Maybe if you can't go out and have a good time without getting into a fist fight with your wife you probably shouldn't be married to that person. I'll agree that she probably deserved it but that still doesn't make it right. Its called self control and being a man, no excuse for it whatsoever. I'm just tired of people trying to defend him. I'm glad he lost his job, maybe it will be a reality check to him and the rest of the players that they are not gods and can do whatever they please. Maybe they should get an automatic 1 year suspension if they are arrested for ANY crime. They make more in 1 year than you or I will ever see and they know that when they do something wrong they probably won't get punished or will receive special treatment. Time to start holding them to the same standards as the rest of the citizens. I guarantee that if that was my wife and I on that footage I'd still be in jail. But I'm not a millionaire football player or celebrity. It's a shame that you make millions of dollars a year and still have to act like some back alley ghetto punk.

  10. It's Ray's and wife's problem not the world's,PC police want everyone fired that had nothing to do with Ray's and his wife's problem.

  11. The people who are still supporting him and making excuses don't believe in domestic violence, the only reason she is still with him was of course for the money but it's a pattern she can't break without real help.

  12. Sports fans are wacky. If their favorite player stabbed someone they would build statues in his honor.

  13. Maybe a palimony suit?
Definitely a civil suit. She could walk away with $$$$$$$. Or limp. Or stagger.
