While the Gordy Tiger Marts gouge their customers this holiday weekend, other gas stations are following by raising their prices this weekend.
Currently most stations are charging $3.38 a gallon but RIGHT NOW you can get gas at Sam's Club for $3.27 a gallon.
Don't waste any time filling up because once they catch on they just might up their prices as well.
Unless something unforeseen happens this will be the only way I get screwed this weekend.
ReplyDeletecaveat emptor you boneheads.
ReplyDeleteMotor fuel retailer do not set the price at the pump, the wholesaler do.
ReplyDeleteThe different between the wholesale and retail price on motor fuel is measured in pennies per gallon. The wholesale and retail price of products sold in the store is measured in percentages on the dollar, usually between 25 and 100 percent.
Motor fuel is a loss leader to get you into store to buy potato chip, sodas, cigarettes, and other products that generate the real profits.
The different between the wholesale and retail price of motor fuel for the retail barely covers the cost to run the pumps keep the lights on over the islands.

The Stop & Shop on Bi-State Blvd between State St & Foskey Lane in Delmar (not Boulevard on the Corner) was $3.29 this morning.
ReplyDelete$3.23 in Snow Hill
ReplyDeleteAre you kidding me... Eleven Cents a gallon less than the local station owners. I'm a Sams Club Member and just got gas yesterday so I did not get ripped off!!! The local companies are the first ones to raise their gas prices. As a retired finance person that did the "books" for a small 3 gas station owner, I know how they make their money. The so called "local" do good guys like Gordy Tiger Marts and Goose Creek Food Stores raise their prices in a blink of the eye when the wholesale prices are trending upward. When the wholesale market falls, they're the last to drop their street prices. Guess who get rips off? Us LOCAL People that are "reminded to buy local". Trust me... you better off buy from WaWa, Royal Farms, Sams Club pushing the profits out of state than getting ripped off at the gas pump. Sams Club & WaWa offer very competitive gasoline prices, have courteous employees, and cleaner bathrooms!!
ReplyDeleteHey 10:04...
ReplyDeleteJohn get your head out of the sand and talk about something you know about... like building sand castles!!!
and yet while you babies cry about an eleven cent difference, the gov't makes how much per gallon?!! Now go change your diapers!
ReplyDeleteI want to sit in a traffic jam to save $.66 on six gallons of gas as much as I want to line the coffers of Sam Walton's enterprises.
ReplyDeleteGas in West OC has been 3.20 a gallon for over a week now

ReplyDeleteI have discuses the price of motor fuel with many independent retails, not a single one of them has told me that they set the pump price.
Oh and for your information Maryland state law prohibits retailers from selling motor fuel below the wholesale price they paid for it.

Controlled by muslims PERIOD.
ReplyDelete$3.27 at Eden Valero
ReplyDeleteI always find it funny people drive out of their way to save money on gas. Unless you are filling up 100 gallons, most cars only take 20 or less. So a ten cent difference 2.00. LOL People dont value time...
ReplyDeleteThe whole problem is, the price of oil only increased a couple of pennies per barrel. Whomever sets the prices, mostly wholesalers, is gouging the consumer again and our government continues to allow it
ReplyDeleteI purchase two or three tanks of gas at Gordy Tiger Mart Next to Denny' a week. Sunday I went to Annapolis, the gas prices from there to Salisbury was $3.25. I said I will get gas at my favorite spot since they should be the same. WRONG, they were 10 cent more than everyone else. Nice job Gordy's, you not only screwed the tourist, but your loyal customers who support you all year.
