Where's the accountability?
ReplyDeleteHow can we get a financial and policy audit started?
If the policy allows this - we can fire the board and change the policy - if the policy doesn't allow it - we can fire the employee for misappropriation!
It's the same as stealing, they should go to jail.
ReplyDeleteThis is just so ridiculous, everyone, and I do mean everyone involved, needs to be fired. Auditors, not local either, where are you???????????
ReplyDeleteFrom county personnel manual:
ReplyDelete1410 Meals.
(a) Within Local Travel Area. Expenses incurred by an employee for a meal during local travel (within a 30 mile radius of Salisbury, see map on page 14-14) are not normally reimbursable. Local meals may only be reimbursed provided the following guidelines are complied with:
(1)
The cost of the meal is included as part of the meeting, seminar, training or convention fee; or
(2)
The Department Head has approved the request and:
(i) The purpose, date and time of the local meal is provided on the reimbursement request;
. (ii) The names, titles, and company of any guests are provided; and
(iii) A receipt issued by the dining establishment is provided.
(b) Out of Local Travel Area. Nonlocal travel is that travel which exceeds a 30 mile radius from Salisbury (see map). The following maximum reimbursement rates may be authorized depending on the Travel Periods that the employee is away from home.

1 - Midnight to 6 a.m.
2 – 6 a.m. to Noon

(f) Part of Conference or Seminar Fees. Employees will not be reimbursed for meals that are provided as the result of a conference or seminar and for which the costs were included within the conference or seminar fees.
(g) Reimbursable Rates. Each January, the County Council approves a maximum rate for meals (excluding tax and tips) actually consumed by any employee on official business.
(h) Documentation. Receipts for all meals are required. Employees may not request reimbursement for meals not actually consumed.
As much money as they make, they should pay for their own lunches or else brown bag it!
ReplyDeleteThe person issuing these cards and approving them needs to be fired! The person using and abusing them needs to be fired and Mr Frederickson needs to be fired along with the entire board! This is a disgrace to the county and the taxpayers!! and whoever Crystal Hankerson is what the heck was 789.00 for?
ReplyDeleteAlso not to be hurtful but Mr Pollitt do you really think you need all that food? Take a look in the mirror. You want to take care of the taxpayers money and you are abusing it!!!
11:59 This. FFS, I'd rather see a Sams Club purchase, loading up on coffee and breakfast stuff... not a $5-6 Wawa charge, three times a day. Common F-ing sense Pollitt.
ReplyDeleteThis series of articles has been a major topic with my friends. The overall consensus is that none of us will be voting for Pollitt. Thank you for educating us on this.

ReplyDeleteHey... 11:59am
I pretty sure of this... the Members of the Wicomico County Board of Education do not control Mr. Frederickson and his policy. It's not their fault and I am sure they are disgusted as much as you and I are over this matter.
Mr. Frederickson, you should be a Man of Honor and submit your resignation. Go to another city, town or state and let your new people run wild with their spending habits. You saw this happening long ago and should have "reeled it in" long ago. With that being said, this is CRIMINAL against the People of Wicomico County.
Do the right thing while you can held your head high and RESIGN before the "stuff" hits the fan.
A little humor for you all..
