Mayor Rick Meehan
After working throughout the night and into the morning, SHA crews officially completed the necessary repairs to the drawbridge. As of 12:15 p.m., complications to the bridge were fully restored and the drawbridge is now operating under the regularly scheduled opening and closing time period. Thank you all for your patience and understanding during what we know was a very frustrating time for our residents and visitors.
Meanwhile across the bridge they opened the Silver line. Maybe they should have spent a little bit of money fixing or upgrading some bridges in Maryland first.
ReplyDeleteWasn't this the bridge that was supposed to get replaced or something some time back? Why did that never happen?
ReplyDeleteThey need to build another bridge that is high enough so that they don't have to open it or at least so that it only opens once or twice a day. Maybe if they stopped paving route 50 every year they could save enough money to build a better bridge. Most of the money for transportation goes to the other side of the bridge.
ReplyDelete3:13 I get your gripe but Silver Line is entirely in VA...
