There's also an organization known as Blacks In Government (BIG), made up of civil service workers. The organizations goals as I understand them are to promote people of color joining the government work force and progressing up the pay ladders. Appears as though they have the market cornered - quality people can't get through the application process and the folks already in can't do a thing!
TO ALL THE COMMENTERS ABOVE STATING THAT CONGRESS WAS THE CONGRESSIONAL WHITE CAUCUS - YOU THE VOTERS MADE IT THAT WAY! YOU! NOONE ELSE! YOU! IF THERE WASN'T ANY MINORITY PEOPLE WILLING TO STEP UP IN YOUR STATE TO RUN FOR OFFICE - BLAME YOURSELVES!!!!
3:43 PM is sooooooooooo correct. So and to everyone else, stop blaming Obama for this country woes. Blame the do nothing Congressional White Caucus. "Congress." :-)
"I'm pretty sure congress has been a Congressional White Caucus for a while now."
Well, let me correct your mistake for you. As a white male, I can assure you that, with a couple of exceptions, I am NOT represented by this congress. If I were, your Dear Leader would be behind bars.
On the same subject: And it is proudly proclaimed as "an historically black college". If a college was labeled as "an historically white college" we would never heard the end of whining, complaining and lawsuits.
Hard to address all the ignorance here and usually I'm not one to enter into a battle if wits with the unarmed, but a step back at a picture from C-Span sees many colors and races there in Congress and the Senate, so there goes that one.
Next, there may be other small caucuses, but the only one most outspoken in a "They're hurting us" or "We want this" way is the CBC.
Bottom line is, all of the above "caucuses" have one thing in common, and that is to divide races and hate the others. Otherwise, if all races acted as one America, there would be no need for any of them, just Congress, of all colors together moving in the direction of Truth, Justice, and the American Constitutional way.
FYI, Civil Rights Act of 1964 was passed by an overwhelmingly white, male congress and signed by a white male President. Many Democrats in the senate opposed it and only strong Republican support let it pass.
The law is imperfect, and arguably has become somewhat twisted since due primarily to administrative procedures and regs.
That said, the CBC does not welcome congress members who are black but hold conservative views. That is a shame; if any group should be inclusive you would think they would be.
Seems to me all the hard struggle for civil rights and equality was nothing more than a way for minorities to band together in exclusive clubs so they could be just like what they fought so hard to change and do it with impunity.
A lot like the Black Troopers Caucus. There was a time this was needed no doubt about it. Today it is nothing more then a diversion. The freaking president is of color. Funny Jews were enslaved for a thousand years. Irish,Chinese,Russians, American Indians,Koreans. The guilt trip needs to end and everyone needs to be just good ole Americans. I am becoming a racist by the continued racism lol

If you say so, but the big difference is whites aren't allowed in the Congressional Black Caucus. They are not allowed on BET. They are not allowed on the to be in the "Miss Black America" pageant.

The average white American is so dumb and to stupid to realize what they are doing to themselves and "their people" when they make ignorant comments like 3:15pm.
Groups like this make me racist. Sick of the card being played over and over. Unless you are over 100 years old stop crying you have had it pretty good.
There is a Congressional Hispanic Caucus as well as an Asian Pacific Islander Caucus.
ReplyDelete2:53 So you saying that there should be a Congressional White Caucus?
ReplyDeleteIt all ready is, it's called America
DeleteSo true. It's time black people start owning up to the facts !!!! Pity party is over guys.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure congress has been a Congressional White Caucus for a while now.
ReplyDeleteIt's not black people's fault that other races haven't been able to be as politically cohesive!

ReplyDeleteJust like the "Black Miss America" pageant. I sure didn't see any white women in there. Turn about is fair play!!

ReplyDeleteI wasn't racist but I am now.
ReplyDeleteIt's White Progressives that are behind all of these divisive groups.
ReplyDelete5:01 and by the same token... most colleges are historically white! And male!
ReplyDeleteYes I am. Didn't use to be. But due to their own ignorance and laziness....I am proud to say I am.

ReplyDeleteThey need to change their name to the black radical caucus.
ReplyDeleteIt's just a hate group. Prejudice is their entertainment. Their statement that they are not a part of Congress, but a team of Regress.
ReplyDeleteCan't leave a comment, every time I leave a comment about blacks or mexicans it don't make the cut.
