OCEAN CITY, Md. —Ocean City is a destination for many during the summer, and while there are great free events for families, officials are also working to make it a more family-friendly place.
The town is offering up something free for families every night of the week until the season ends this year, including free concerts and movies on the beach, as well as family beach Olympics and other programs.
But this year, visitors will see something different -- 60 signs hanging from lampposts on every other block asking to keep the language clean.
"We noticed that profanity is something that is objectionable to a lot of people, especially if you have kids on the boardwalk," said Ocean City Mayor Rick Meehan.

They also need to give out free condoms for the screwing the folks are getting on the prices of food, drinks, parking, and rooms! Last year OC was rated as the costliest resort on the east coast!
ReplyDeleteGot three tickets in o.c.today. I lit a cigg and got popped. In disbelief I uttered a curse word and wouldn't you know it the cop wrote another.feeling sick to my stomach about my choice of vacation location I farted out loud. With a roll of his eyes the cop sighs and says you tourist never learn..........
ReplyDeleteTourism is way off this year. The mayor did not mention that. Realtors will not talk about it either. Others who depend on mass quantities of tourists for a living will tell you...all the good people and families who ventured onto the boardwalk after dark last year are not coming back this year. Folks, you have to see it for yourselves. It is unbelievable. The mayor and council will not act to curtail this madness; instead, it's no smoking on the beach.
