PUBLISHERS NOTES: I want ALL of you to understand something here.

First of all, we have delivered this information for four weeks straight now. IF you thought what you have seen is BAD, let me educate you to something you didn't know.

On the Board of Education alone, there are more than ONE THOUSAND, SIX HUNDRED similar charges and a total of more than $160,000.00 in similar expenses.

We can continue to publish this information for months to come every week, (if you like) or we can simply say that we are the ONLY source within the local media that was willing to step up and provide such EDUCATIONAL information to the TAXPAYERS.

Mind you, I'm only talking about the Board of Education and NOT the County Executive. There's plenty more to come from both departments.

The choice is yours. Should we continue to deliver this information every week or have you seen enough?

  1. I hope the $755.01 to the Green Turtle is a mistake. If not the taxpayers should file a lawsuit against the BOE. Who the heck is in charge of our dollars?

    ReplyDelete
  2. 9:05, Doesn't matter. They just don't give a chit. No one gives a chit.

    ReplyDelete
  3. That money should have went into taking care of the old court house that now needs several million dollars in repairs. I know these expenses don't add up to million's, however, compile all the waste, it does add up and should not be spent this way. Especially when the only way these chimps think is just to raise taxes on the people lucky enough to have a job.

    ReplyDelete
  4. There's probably a shortage of turtles and the price went up. Just like crabs.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Just look at how many of these places are bars.

The BOE should not be paying for bar tabs.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Does'nt anyone pack a lunch anymore?

    ReplyDelete
  7. Why pack a lunch when you feed at a taxpayer trough?!

    ReplyDelete
  8. What pisses me off is they want more and more money from the community. So my taxpayer money goes for them going out and spending thousands on meals. It's bull$hit.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I don't think it matter JOE, I am afraid to say...

People that see the same thing over and over and over get sick and tired of it... Then you have people who want this stuff every day or every week... Great...

The point is, there is nothing I personally can do except help push you all into voting proper next time and also, to maybe help you all get off your lazy fat asses and help us try to stop this stuff... NO one else wants to help so does really posting this week in and week out going to do anything at all? NO and if it does it will sure as heck not help in the right direction because the lack of action on all of yours' parts show you don't care even when you say you do...

I am glad all I do is work in this city and not live here... Who would want to live in a cesspool of retards who don't have enough respect for themselves to not want to live like a slave while every other politician lives like a king on the money you all say you so need very much... THEN HOW THE HECK IS IT OK for them to keep taxing you all of your money yet you don't care not one iota... but you can bitch and complain and comment all night on blogs about how the heck you won't do shit to stop it?

    ReplyDelete
  10. If all this information is 100% accurate, then keep it coming. Spending tax payer dollars should be transparent.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Joe,

It needs to published on a regular basis so all of your viewers can see where their tax money is going....maybe they'll get out and do something to get rid of a tax/spender or bring on those that actually foster growth!

    ReplyDelete
  12. Nobody cares! Nobody votes! Look at the turn out % ! If its not Rick it will be someone else! Government is a snow ball growing and cant be stopped I am afraid to say! There are people who are getting welfare and disability checks who are RICH! Sad state of affairs! If anyone thinks that Culver will be better is crazy! He will fall into the same trap. People like Joe cant get elected for a reason!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  13. Show it every day, Joe!

    ReplyDelete
  14. I would like to see context, such as who charged and the supporting justification/explanations for the charge. Without that, you may as well stop printing these numbers because they really don't tell the story. You might be the only one reporting them, but they are available on the county website if anyone truly cares enough to go look. So perhaps you are wasting your time doing the work that those who really care can do for themselves.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I always heard that Dr. Freddy likes the Turtle.

    ReplyDelete
  16. 10:21 Everyone knows you only go to Brew River and Green Turtle for their FOOD. Because's it's so delicious. /sarcasm!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Keep posting them, and everyone should share on their social media accounts.

    ReplyDelete
  18. 11:25, The Board of Ed information is NOT on the Website.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Why are the taxpayers on Wicomico County having to pay for this bull crap. There is no need for these expenses.

    ReplyDelete
  20. WHERE IS THE INSPECTOR GENERALS OFFICE??????

    ReplyDelete
  21. Please keep printing.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Keep it coming, this next election is very important.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I'm late to this chat and confused to say the least. Are you telling us that this is the dollar amounts that the B.O.E. is paying for lunches/dinners/booze? If that is the facts.... then by all means YES keep posting this ...better yet... find out who is the one with the credit card and tell us that. I have some inside information that would curl your toes. Later....

    ReplyDelete
  24. Pollitt panders to the school board and now to the volunteer firemen as well.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I have two children in Wicomico County Schools this money could be better spent in the classroom. This is a shame.

    ReplyDelete
  26. If honoring a pledge to not cut funds for our volunteer fire companies is pandering, he can pander all he wants. I choose to look at it as recognizing a vital service that needs all the funds we can give. I guess by not cutting funds for our seniors is pandering too? (you old goat) Thank you, Mr. Pollitt, from someone who has been saved by those very volunteers.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I stand corrected, Joe, on the stats not being on the BOE website. Still, can you give any supporting facts to put these figures in context?

    ReplyDelete
  28. I can't afford to go out to lunch once a week, but these jerks are spending my money buying their lunches. We need to "clean house".

    ReplyDelete
  29. I struggle To pay my property taxes so the county won't take my home from me.I do without a nice car or fancy food at nice restaurants then see them freely spending my hard to come by money they force from me on food etc. when everyone there makes more than I do and can afford to buy their own. I am the "little man" with no voice to be heard by them or no power against them.I will still vote.

    ReplyDelete
  30. And they charge us 5 dollars just so I can watch my son run at a track meet. I had to come up with 20 dollars for me, my wife, my mother, and my brother who couldn't believe they were charging for this! This was at the Bayside outdoor track championship in Cambridge last week. Already had to pay hundreds for track shoes, and 20 for each season totaling 80 dollars just for him to run!

    ReplyDelete
  31. No wonder Pollit and Fredericksen look so overweight!

    ReplyDelete
  32. 3:24
    I totally agree!
We have no voice in this county, and county council will not listen to us. Jobs are leaving, and for those of us who still have a job or property, they are taxing us out of existence! Something has got to give!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Still trying to figure out why Wicomico Cty hasn't ever fashioned their budget side by side with Sussex County...it's amazing the things we are ALLOWING people to get away with.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Board employees do get an amount they can spend for meals when they're away at a conference or something. I have no idea why taxpayers are paying for lunches in town.

    ReplyDelete
  35. 3:24 Nobody cares! Get a better job and quit crying! Run for office

  36. Rick & Wayne:

I'll be at the Turtle tonight.

    Freddy

  37. Keep showing it. It needs to be seen by as many people as possible.
I guess if someone is a little short that week for groceries and liquor they just call for a meeting and bring out the state credit card..........

    ReplyDelete
  38. Look at the bright side...
At least they visited a lot of locally owned establishments.

  40. what are they doing in another county buying Rita's?? There is no accountability, no check and balance and basically they are wasting taxpayer money on crap. 1300 to Dunkin Donuts. I mean seriously. Where does the corruption stop?? Heads need to roll over this. I don't have children as I am unable but my taxes sure as hell pay for this chit. They need to pay it all back.

    ReplyDelete
  41. keep up the good work, Joe - why can't they eat the food at skool? I bet there is plenty left over....

  42. $400 at Chick-Fil-a?????

  43. Post both of the criminals weekly, maybe people will get mad enough and maybe malfeasance will occur?

    ReplyDelete
  44. Joe, I thank you for posting, I'm normally not one of your supporters, but again thanks for posting. Wish I could come forward and complain at one of the counsel meetings, but I don't live in Wicomico and I'm an employee. Please keep on them.

    ReplyDelete
  45. They have to buy this stuff at Greene Turtle, Brew River, etc. because they don't serve liquor at the schools.

    ReplyDelete
  46. But it's for the Children!!

  47. I have a question...

How many people work in the County Executive's Office?

    All transactions in Salisbury...

    5 Transactions on Jan. 13, 2013 ?

    9 Transactions on Feb. 28, 2013 ?

    Let's prosecute the entire office!

Someone needs to print the names of the employees as well...

    ReplyDelete
  48. at least their not using a firetruck to go get lunch......sarcasm....

    ReplyDelete
  49. Since when did all of our education money go to food? If kids need food stamps, make sure their families have them, but this is sickening.

    ReplyDelete
  50. keep it coming!

  51. I have worked hard all of my life and I never had or expected my employer to pay for my food or drinks, befor, during or after work. These people feel they are entitled to this and is being reinforced by the fact that nobody has been willing, until now, to bring this to the attention of the tax payers. I would like to know if this is still going on or has the attention scared them off? Only a very select few should be issued credit cards and then their expendatures should be published monthly.Past expendatures should be reviewed and those responsible should be made to repay the county or lose their job and all retirement benefits. We the tax payers are fed up enough is enough.

  52. Stu, Yes, it continues even today.

We need a open meeting with the superintendent,Frederichson, to ask questions and a time to reflect our feelings about this situation. Joe, what can be done? Can we seek legal help from the state board of education?

  54. It is evident that very few of the people posting on here have ever held a management level job in a corporation. Expense accounts are common place in the business world and in public sector jobs. Sour grapes to the folks that have not risen to the education level to hold such a position. I have been on both sides of the fence and the perks of having privileges such as a company vehicle and expense account are what comes with having the education or the guts to be the boss in the real world.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Stu has never held a job above that of a employee. Business owners and executives receive such perks as company pid vehicles, meals and travel expenses when conducting business. This practice occurs in the public sector too for the people that have achieved executive positions. Having seen the posts on SBY, a case could be made that the county and BOE are taking advance of their positions.

    ReplyDelete
  56. CHECK out the sheriff office too you be surprized

While expense accounts are common place esp in upper management of corporations, what is NOT common place is the lace of accountability.
I can guarantee you've not come close to my executive experiences 7:17, so I can say explicitly that
corporate expenses must be itemized to include who, when, and why. You just don't hand over a receipt and it's over with---- not only for accountability to the corporation but also for tax purposes. There are also written policies in place for spending and reporting the expenses.
I've had the opportunity to use a company Learjet for both business related and personal use. You have to reimburse (cost based on what a commercial airline would charge for business class seating) the corp when you use the jet for personal reasons.
The abuses we see within the government regarding this issue isn't happening in the world of Fortune 500 companies, so don't even elude to it because it isn't true.

    ReplyDelete
  62. 7:17 Because public sector and private sector are the same? Brilliant.

No one is questioning the expense account of Perdue's executives, this is tax dollars. There should be ZERO personal expense accounts (FOR FOOD AND ALCOHOL) for ANYONE who is paid by tax dollars.

    ReplyDelete
  63. 7:17 is full of crap. Every large corporation has a policy concerning employee business expenses overseen by the CFO. All receipts are turned in with documentation attached. All meals charged must be related to business and documentation is required showing who and how business was conducted during the meal.
You are not handed over a credit card, or able to submit receipts carte blanche. Business expense reimbursements and expense accounts are strictly controlled in the private sector.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Progressives actually think they are on a level with Private Business??? perhaps we need to take away their pensions and make them work on the silly Monday Holidays they create for themselves to have long weekends and have

Educators should also learn to drive snow plows so they can perform that job after those with that responsibility 8 hour shift ends and overtime kicks in..they get the day off when the National Weather Service cries wolf

maybe they should also be compelled to work more than 180 days a year too..

    ReplyDelete
  65. 9:18 my corporate card is to pay for operational expense ...not my Bar bill..

BOE obviously thinks it can do what it wants when it wants.. Fredrickson is just an incompetent self ingratiating Administrator period.. and I am willing to bet he has contempt for the County he serves ..

our tax dollars and how he allows them to be used are ironclad proof of what I submit.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I was a Glorified Caterer for over 20 years with access to an AMEX card. In this particular industry, each and every restaurant bill was eye balled by the corporate hawks. My meal had better cost less than the client's and the bar bill had better not exceed the food bill. Many times I had to reach into my own pocket to pay a higher than allowed bar bill.
We had to spell out who we were entertaining and who ordered what.
