  3. That sign just caused me to loose my breakfast!

  4. Everyone can say what they want about the Job Rick does in office but you can't take away the fact that he's a great guy. I agree he sucks when it comes to politics but he is one of the most nicest, caring, thoughtful people I know. Happy Birthday Rick!

  5. Glad someone loves him, because I don't!!!

  6. Yes, Rick is a good man. And he is good with politics but he has had no business experience and is over his head as the executive.

  7. He is not a great guy. He will turn his back on you in a heart beat and I have seen the ignorant side come out in him.

Look Bozo a great guy doesn't rape his fellow citizens by taxing them to death. You are to ignorant to vote.

He is not good with politics. Another ignorant one heard from. You are to stupid to realize you contradicted yourself in that statement.

  10. Just goes to show there are people who really like him, and people who dislike him. The same goes for all of us.

  11. He's right up there in the same category as John Fredericksen. A political hack.

  12. The man has family who may read this (I hope not.) He is well liked by his community. Can't you just leave it at that? No, let's continue to use inflammatory language because you don't like someone's politics. This sign and its message has no place in the discourse of county politics. Happy Birthday, Big Rick. You are loved by many.

  13. How much did that sign cost Dr. Freddy???

  14. It's his birthday! Give him a day's break from criticism! LOL

  15. Like most experienced pols he can gladhand and posture (just like O'Malley, Obama, Conway, Mathias to name a few).

But, behind your back, with pals like Pretl and now Pagano, he's trying to get more out of your wallet.

  16. 12:04 He will get a break from criticism, when he no longer has his hands in our till.

  17. Different strokes for different folks. What's a nice guy to some, may be a sleazeball to others.

The birthday sign is in Allen. He is a native & they are proud of him.

  18. My question is Why do we love him. Our taxes have gone up and up while other counties lived with in their means and made cuts , local roads are crap, school budget is out of control with no real accountability, business are leaving and heading out and the taxes and spending keep going up. Something has to give. What has Rick done for the business community that creates jobs and pays taxes. I am trying to think of one positive. I can not.

  19. Rick really dislikes the taxpayer the same can be said about all liberal democrats

  20. Give Rick a great big hug when you see him.

  21. Since Allen loves him so much, he needs to stay home and be Mayor of Allen then and quit messing Salisbury/Wicomico County up. We won't miss you if you leave, go ahead.

  22. Rickdiculous! It's tough being born with a silver spoon in your mouth and having public jobs created for you each step of the way!

    "They?"

Only 1 (One) person put up that sign not many as in "they."

  24. Rick wants to do away with the revenue cap so he can tax us to death even more. And you have the nerve to say he is a nice guy?

  25. It is disheartening to see this blog go out of the way to bash our Community sign and the person it is addressing. In no way did we think of the political side of Rick, when as a group we decided to give him a special greeting today.

The publisher of Salisbury News has stated many times how much he liked Rick as a person, but did not agree with his political ways.
Our community of Allen is sadden to learn that Salisbury News used our sign as an excuse to turn "Happy Birthday" into a political and personal mockery.

The sign was for Rick the man, our friend and neighbor who is an asset to our community. The pettiest of some anonymous comments on Salisbury news will not spoil that for us.

Hmmmm... it sounds like it was a GROUP of Allen residents that put up the birthday sign. Sorry to burst your bubble.

If you don't want your family to read the truth about you then stay the hell out of public life. He gets what he deserves and vice versa.

  29. 10:19, what you say is truth about anyone is just that- what you say. Why don't you run for office and see what your opponents have to say about you? Why don't we keep family/community birthday wishes exempt from political fodder? Too complicated?
