Half As Many People TODAY Have Already Visited Yesterday's Biggest Article

While tens of thousands of people viewed yesterday's big airline article, half that many people all day yesterday have already visited the article today.

I also just noticed that the article has delivered 200 Comments, (so far) proving it is in fact a news worthy story.

Which now begs the question, Do You Feel Safe Flying Any Airline Today?

  1. I have no problem flying. I feel as safe as ever!

  3. I am scheduled to fly out of Salisbury next month and appreciate that we have a local airport to depart from rather than driving 100 plus miles to get to an airport.
Without our airport, there would be a lot fewer jobs and that is just what me need...more Obama phones, more AHC, etc etc. I feel safer up in the air than driving on the ground anymore with everyone using their cell phones, some texting while they are driving!

  4. I'm going to answer my own question here.

YES, I feel safer TODAY now that this has been EXPOSED then I did yesterday.

I believe Piedmont will now do everything in their power to make damn sure this never happens again.

  5. I think I would if Piedmont had stepped up and disclosed the incident and said the matter was being investigated and corrective action was taken. My question now is how many incidents have happened that we were never made aware of that were similar or worse. My confidence in this airline is shaken.

  6. 10:40, Interesting. The evidence we delivered yesterday proved it happened MULTIPLE times. I'm not sure all of you read all of the documents but one witness on the plane stated that they could clearly see the light Christmas Trees in peoples homes, that's how low they were over the Mall.

The entire thing is scary to say the least.

  7. I always feel uncomfortable driving because of all the nuts on the road over whom I have no control. Give me an airplane any day.

  8. 10:40. I agree. Piedmont clearly dropped the ball on this one. They were so busy trying to hide it, they never realized the amount of Piedmont employees telling anyone and everyone what had happened. I heard this story ( but never believed it) from my daughter-in-law. My son was working that morning when all the information was taken from plane.
He said all of the mechanics were in shock, and the floor supervisors were told to keep quiet about the information.

  9. 10:43 so you think you have control in an aircraft??? Let me guess what your occupation is, pilot???

  10. This story keeps getting worse by the minute. Of course they were told to keep quiet about it. That's how Piedmont operates. They probably make all employees sign confidentially paperwork.

  11. Flying is much safer than driving. When is the last time an airliner even crashed in the US? I won't say I don't get a little nervous on take-off/landing or during turbulence, but I feel a heck of a lot safer in the air than I do on the highway between two semi trucks going 75.

  12. My guess is that mgnt. is sitting around a conference table trying to figure out a way to put this fire out.

  13. Re: 1:53. Aiana Flight 214 San Francisco, Colgan Flight 3407 in Buffalo, Us Airways Flight 1549...(1:53) shall I continue,?

  14. Maybe they should have been sitting around a conference table when this happened talking about disclosing it, instead of trying to bury it. TIP TO PIEDMONT: it's NOT a secret when ALL your employees know about it.

  15. Bravo 2:33!!. We agree with you! It's a miracle how this story stayed buried with the enormous amount of people who knew about it. If anything good can come of this, maybe it
will stop a pilot from jeopardizing the lives of innocent people. The thought of my wife and kids on that flight just makes me furious.

  16. I have no problem worry about my life when I fly, I just never book piedmont or US_Scare, or is that useless air?

  17. I have been at plane crashes and trust me I would rather get in a car wreck than in a plane doing 300 mph in a nose dive for 60 seconds.

  18. I've been reading these posts today and I'm curious about the actions or non-actions of the 2nd in command. One post said the FAA suspended his license for 6 months. My question being this, what in the hell was he doing while all this was going on? Did he have his eyes closed or was he playing Poker on his computer?
OR was he familiar with all this and just set back and enjoyed the scenery? The FAA took his license for a reason.

  19. 6:50 I was acually wondering the same thing! What responsibility did the other pilot have in all of this? Boy was this the talk of the day at work.

  20. Someone at work said the guy is really young and that is why the Captain pulled this on him. It sure is ashame that his career is probably ruined too.

  21. The last flight my husband and I took from Salisbury airport, we noticed both of the pilots looked like college kids. This young man involved in this mess has probably ruined his career, I agree.
