WASHINGTON - Maryland lawmakers are trying to even the playing field for sports fans and concertgoers by banning automatic purchases of large blocks of tickets, which drives up the price for consumers.
The House passed a version of the bill Friday, which outlaws automated ticket buying software. This software is used to purchase blocks of tickets automatically and repetitively.
The computer-driven traffic often pushes out individuals trying to buy a few tickets to an event.
The Maryland Consumer Rights Coalition applauded lawmakers' work.

What's the difference. The Wicomico Youth & Civic Centers rip off consumers by selling tickets to the "Pit" for outrageous prices when people that actually pay for seating gets ripped off because of the drunks in front of them standing up the whole time. Not everyone can stand up for 4 hours straight. Not everyone wants to have to stand up because someone over 6 foot tall is standing up in front of them. Gary Mackes needs to be fired.
