  3. I like the black on red look for those Chevy Pickups. High gloss single stage black paint, red leather interior, red wheels with chrome rings, huge white walls and chrome trim.

  4. Very much like this color

  5. It's a nice color for a Bel Air, maybe even for a Biscayne, but not for an Impala or a pickup. Impalas and pickups should be red, red, red. And even more red!

  6. Silver and black two tone look great on Chevys, get silver base with chevelle style ralley strips in black on the hood ...

  7. Joe,

great color for sure but lets get original, how about you make your own color and who knows maybe ford or someone will buy it...

I seen someone make their own grey midnight blue type color, fantastic color and was bought by ford...

I'M tired of seeing the same old damn colors on hot rods and the like... Either red, or sky blue or some ugly orange or yellow or neon green... Always fire engine red and crap. candy apple red...

    JUST BE DIFFERENT and ORIGINAL...

  8. 10:12, I'm actually considering that. I'm thinking a very deep red wine candy apple red.

  9. 7 pints of candyapple red and 1 pint of black mixed together.I can't recall how big the inset is on the side of a 57,but white would look really good on that. You are most likely laughing at our suggestions, but thanks for allowing our input anyway.

  10. 10:18, I'm not laughing at ANY of these suggestions. I think it's really cool that people are participating.

The pickup body is almost impossible to two tone but the interior dash an be different.

Keep the suggestions coming in because in the end I think you'll find a piece of every one's suggestions will be seen in the end result.

I'm also thinking of using the old rally sport rims with the chrome outer ring and chrome center caps from like a 1969 Camaro.

  13. joe, YES. your thought is perfect. the wine candy apple red. perfect.

like the blue, but Not for the truck...

  14. Never liked it. America had a turquoise craze in the fifties and again in the early sixties.
From cars to clothes to furniture, it was everywhere.

  15. we use to call that "Earl Scheib Blue" it was one of the 99$ paint job colors over on the Western Shore.

  16. That is a nice looking car, however I have always thought that color to be somewhat gay looking. Not really manly or masculine.

If I was to paint my 57 Chevy pickup that color it would only be because I owned that 57 Chevy in the picture. I do like the wheels on that car though. Chrome is back in style.

Joe, I would paint the truck black, put a little bit of a lift on the truck and put a 4x4 transfer case on it. That would be cool and unique. Chrome 4x4 wheels as well. It doesn't have to be jacked up with big redneck fat tires. Nothing wrong with that to your readers, but not my style. Just a little lift kit would be perfect.

  17. I like all candy colors with micro flake. It's a very small metal flake that looks very good.
It's hard to get but it's well worth it. It appears to be a metallic at it's best.
I used it on my bike with 6 coats of clear. This product appears to be very deep like the old school paints.

  18. Joe...a very dark black cherry.....dark enough to almost look black from different angles. Then.....multiple coats of clear wt sanded between coats. The color will be so rich and deep it will look like you can swim in it. Then Chrome. Just the rights amount. Black leather interior. And a small block Chevy. A 383 stroker, a cut Ford 9", and........vintage air. If you don't have air it can make a nasty summer day out of a beautiful car show.

  19. What color was it manufactured in? (Didn't view the earlier video). If you're going for hot rod or custom then it's your call.

What are you doing for upholstery, and for the bed? May influence your choice for the body.

The turquoise is best left to the cars.

  20. I do think it's a cool color. I go for that one instead of any kind of red. Sheamus

  21. Be the first around to have a 1957 pickup painted with mood paint. It would be a basic color, but subject to change as your mood changes. But I guess that since you aren't a moody person...

  22. Red unless you have to appease a family member. You seem to be gravitating toward blue.
