Accumulation Expected Tuesday
Dover -- Dover -- Roads across Delaware are being pretreated with a salt and water mixture called brine this morning, in preparation of tomorrow's forecasted snow fall.
Crews from the Delaware Department of Transportation are spending today pre-treating the primary and some secondary roads in every county.
Brine's purpose is to slow or prevent any accumulation of snow or ice on roads and bridges.
Drivers should drive carefully and allow extra travel time tomorrow, as snow is expected, and could accumulate and create some slick areas.

ReplyDeleteAnd what about the city of Salisbury? Are they pretreating the roads with salt or are we going to risk the property and lives of the citizens to save a few bucks?

ReplyDeleteI saw the roads in Delaware yesterday. Route 113 , 24. All had a wet substance on them. Will this damage our cars? I know a few years ago my car got salted and the paint chipped off. It was horrible. Just wondering..why salt if everything's closed anyway...
