MDA Exclusive: Brekford representative to travel to Salisbury tomorrow to hand over documents
A source at Salisbury's speed camera vendor, Brekford Corporation, has informed the MDA that a Brekford representative will be meeting with Col. Barclay on Friday, November 8, to deliver "a very large packet" of speed camera calibration certificates. Col. Barclay manages Salisbury's speed camera program.
State law requires that the calibration certificates be maintained in the files of each jurisdiction that operates speed cameras.
The MDA requested calibration certificates from Salisbury five months ago, but the city did not fulfill the request. Another request was submitted two months ago. The city has continued to disregard the requests for calibration certificates even after numerous calls and emails to Mayor James Ireton, Council President Jacob Day, the city clerk, City Attorney Mark Tilghman and other city officials.
The Brekford representative also stated that Salisbury will be posting the calibration certificates on the city's website on November 8.

If you can find the calibration certificates on the city's website please email us the link.
Like anything else these days , documents can be forged or changed to suit the people s request.
ReplyDeleteI just don't trust government or any contractor. It's all about the $$$$$
the city has a website? lol
ReplyDeleteI hope he brought some paint thinner with him too.
ReplyDeleteIt's like playing "Where's Waldo", only without Waldo...
ReplyDeleteCertificates are one thing. Were the shakedown cameras actually calibrated?
ReplyDeleteCamera enforcement techniques are used in jurisdictions to circumvent the law. They do nothing to save lives or change poor driving behavior, because actual police officers are not present when the violation occurs to stop and identify the actual person with the poor driving behavior. Speeding and red light violations are misdemeanors with points associated with the violation. How do they circumvent the law? - by making the owner responsible for the vehicle even when they have no control over the person using the vehicle when the violation is taking place. Calling it a civil violation where no points are distributed to the driver or owner just a large fine. Cameras generate revenue for the City they do not remove bad drivers from the roadway.
ReplyDeleteI guess you disagree with parking tickets...they go to the owner, not necessarily the operator. I am going to show those stupid speed camera people....I am going to make sure I don't speed near those cameras. They won't get a dime from me. That will show them!! (Oh please mr. Wolf....don't throw me in the briar patch) bunch of crybaby morons.
DeleteTickets issued by cops don't remove bad drivers from the roadway either and I wouldn't call a $40 fine large for driving at least 13 mph over the speed limit. 4:07 has a point. Parking tickets have been issued to the car, not the owner, forever. I have never heard anyone complain about that. Sounds like a bad rationalization for opponents of speed cameras. The owner of a vehicle has complete control over who they lend their vehicle to and only lend it to people that are honest who will pay the fine if they get busted for breaking the law in your car.
DeleteRead between the lines, people. If you get a ticket from the cameras, go to court and demand the calibration certificates.
ReplyDeleteWell said Mr. Tilghman , good for you , an excellent comment. Your friend , Wayne
ReplyDeleteAt times one does enjoy reading words of the intellectually challenged. The concept of putting together a conscious thought escapes them and IQ levels rarely if ever exceed the word moron - the word these types often use. It is understandable in this case as it is most likely why "Oh please Mr Wolf" hides his identity.
ReplyDeleteSo, what is your view on how parking tickets are handed out? Do they circumvent the law? Maybe we should just forget about any laws regarding driving as they could all be construed as "revenue grabbers". Funny thing, I often read people on this blog that are opposed to speed cameras calling people morons, libtards, and many other names that describe their IQ simply because they have a different opinion than you on the subject. What it boils down to is that at some point, we are all going to have to agree to disagree on this topic. It has been beat to death. I view them as a user fee. I do not want my tax money going to pay for cops to babysit people that cannot obey the laws of the road. People think that they are not important laws, but they are. I view the cameras as a user fee....those that break the law can help support the people that enforce the law. I don't have a dog in the hunt and do not benefit in any sense from the cameras, but they do not bother me. Cameras are everywhere now. Is it an "erosion of freedom" for a camera to be in a bank or store and be used to catch someone breaking the law? What most people have a problem with is the fact that they can get caught now. They think that there should be more signs up warning of the cameras....besides the speed limit sign and the sign that says photo enforced that are ahead of all of these cameras. If people have become so complacent that they can't pay attention to the signs warning them of a speed camera that is ahead...then they deserve a $40 for driving 13 mph over the speed limit. All of the things that you point out are your opinion only. A fact is that the only thing that changes driver behavior is enforcement. Cameras are enforcement and deter speeding. That has been proven....this can be proven by the decline in the number of citations issued as the cameras are in place for a period of time. This means that they are doing what they are supposed to. Would all of you be happier if we spent more tax money, or raised taxes to hire more officers to babysit people that are selfish and have no regard for other people that use the roads? I won't be. I pay enough taxes for my money to babysit drug dealers and thieves. Keep speeding through the camera areas and help keep my taxes down....I sure appreciate it.
DeleteGood post 9:20, I haven't seen any response to your post yet. Guess they are still trying to think of something. HAHA. Hope they all get tickets. BTW, I heard that they know who has been painting them.....
Delete4:07 the thing libtards like yourself dont understand is about eroision of freedoms and a unconstitional system... the kids angle is BS..
ReplyDeleteYou have a right to confront your Accuser in a court of law...
ReplyDeleteThat is so worn out...you can. You can take any violation to court and the accuser will be there. The accuser is the jurisdiction that ensures that proper calibration and reviews each picture before a citation is issues. 9:20 is spot on.
Delete@4:02 Nah they just moved on to the next "news story" to call people morons and libtards and whatever other phrases they think are clever
