DSP News Release: Over One Hundred Cited in I-95, Route 1 Construction Zone Safety Initiative

Newark- In response several crashes and complaints of speeding and aggressive driving in the construction zone on I-95 and State Route 1, Troopers conducted a two-day traffic initiative on October 15 and 16.
Through the initiative, Troopers issued over 100 traffic summonses for a total of 113 charges. The majority of the citations were for speeding. Troopers will continue to have an increased presence in the construction area in order to ensure the safety of construction workers and motorists.
Troopers remind motorists to always exercise increased caution and vigilance when driving through construction zones. Drivers should always follow the posted speed limit and be alert for construction workers and slow moving vehicles. Fines for most moving violations are doubled when the offense occurs in a construction zone.

Newark- In response several crashes and complaints of speeding and aggressive driving in the construction zone on I-95 and State Route 1, Troopers will be will be increasing traffic enforcement in the area.
Numerous Troopers will be engaged in targeted enforcement in the area tomorrow and Wednesday. Specifically, Troopers will be looking drivers who are speeding and driving aggressively. The public should expect Troopers to have an increased presence in the area for weeks to come, and be mindful of the reduced speed limit on Route 1.
