Trash Truck Driver Honored After Saving Family From House Fire

Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz presented a Hero Pin to a trash truck driver Wednesday after he saved a sleeping Catonsville couple and their dogs in a house fire.

Officials say Bruce Wood, of Catonsville, protected the family from potential serious injury or death from a house fire around 6:20 a.m. on September 6th.

Wood told authorities that during his early-morning collection rounds, he noticed smoke coming from the roof of a home on Bathurst Road in Catonsville. Wood told two other men with him to call 9-1-1 and check the front door.
