A 107-year-old man is dead after SWAT officers shot back at him during a standoff at a home in the southeast Arkansas city of Pine Bluff, police say.
But friends and fellow church members say that Monroe Isadore was legally blind and nearly deaf and shouldn’t have died that way.
“I’m in shock today,” Larry Smith, who attended church with Isadore at New Direction Baptist, told KLRT-TV.

ReplyDeleteA god fearing man.Imagine that.A god fearing man with a gun,who happened to be shooting at everything that moved.Legally blind is not necessarily blind as a bat.He had limited vision. What exactly does 107 have to do with anything? Just a poor old man who snapped & would have killed someone if they hadn't killed him first.Case closed.
ReplyDeletesounds strange to me also 5:02. Is it illegal to brandish a firearm to evict trespassers from your home? And why didn't these people leave before calling cops and then even hang around until the cops make them leave the home?
ReplyDeleteI'm usually on the side of the cops (Waco another exception) but obviously negotiations failed because the man was 107 and hard of hearing. The cops should have waited him out and when he got hungry dosed his food up with tranquilizers like has been successful with hostage situations before.
This is spin B.S. this poor man was executed defending his own home. Welcome to.socialist America.
ReplyDeleteSitting on his own bed defending himself against intruders, which included police. What a shame.
