Yes, Toxic Water From Fukushima Spreads To The Pacific Ocean

A storage tank at the site of the Fukushima nuclear reactors has sprung a “significant” leak and is now pouring out toxic water. Approximately 300 tons of radioactive water have already gone into the ground from where they can seep into the nearby Pacific Ocean.

As of Wednesday, Japan’s nuclear agency has upgraded the severity level of the leak from one to three on the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). Eight would be considered the gravest leak; each single-digit increase on the IAEA represents a tenfold increase in the severity of radiation released.

  2. You don't suppose fish and ocean life will be affected do you? Why isn't there a worldwide effort to contain this Uber-catastrophe?

  4. This is many times worse than Chernoble and Three Mile Island. When all is said and done, it will be known as the worst nuclear disaster in history.

Simply put, the situation is so bad that it can't effectively be fixed. Reactor explosions have distributed fuel rods up to 2 miles away. That matter will never be cleaned up. Ever. And the radiation levels are so high, they can't send people in to build containment structures. You receive a lethal dose in roughly half an hour at ground 0.

The government doesn't have the guts to tell the people the truth. And Tepco is going to use all it's influence to keep people in the dark or that company is toast from the liabilities. Instead, the government tells people to smile so radiation doesn't affect them. I kid you not.

If you haven't heard, the EPA and FDA have both recently increased the amount of "safe" radiation exposure for the environment and food as radiation levels in California and Hawaii have gone up. They have done this to help keep people in the dark about this problem, and the large number of old, leaking reactors within our own country.

  6. Be real careful with sushi.Right now it should be pulled from all restaurants unless it comes from the Atlantic.Note from this point forward that the huge money making fish industry will be the last to pull the plug. The Asian Pacific coast, mainly Japan, sends a variety of everything fish related all over the world. They won't give it up easily, but people can stop eating it.
