A veteran Maryland lawmaker is resigning from office. Republican State Senator E.J. Pipkin who represents the Upper Eastern Shore is resigning effective Monday, August 12th. He was first elected to the Maryland Senate in 2003 and has been a Republican party leader in the state senate.

Pipkin is moving his family to Texas where he will attend Southern Methodist University to get a Master's Degree in Sports Management. Pipkin tells WBAL Radio this is the right time to try and move on to the next step.

Pipkin was one of the most outspoken supporters on the legislation to deregulate electricity in Maryland.

  1. Even the politicians are leaving this sinking ship. Shows how bad things are here on the shore.

  3. Many good conservatives are leaving the tax and spend Maryland for greener pastures. There none more pro-business than Texas.

I personally am sorry to see Senator Pipkin go, but I am sure that O'malley can find an illegal alien family to take Pipkins spots.

  4. No, the senator made enough money off the backs of poor, the n elders and middle class families in this area, he can finally move to the worst and most racist state in this country. Texas.

  5. I wish I knew the real reason Pipkin is throwing in the towel.

So let's see, Pipkin, former Maryland Senate Minority Whip - Resigned

Lowell Stoltzfus - former Maryland Senate Minority Whip - Resigned

What does that say about Maryland - it is not a very encouraging sign.

Chuck Cook do you have anything good to say about any Republican?

How did Senator Pipkin make money off of the backs of the poor?

Why is Texas so racist? Prove it!
