Comment Worthy Of A Post

I would like to point out the fact that the volunteers at station 2 have responded to every call they were dispatched today in such a commendable timely manner. This all done while the paid fireman are sitting at station 16 watching TV all day. Great job Station 2 volunteers. Proof that the calls can be handled without a paid 24 hour crew.

  1. Wow! 14 hours +/- one day out of 365 in a year. Wee, look at me, I'm riding the fire truck. TOOL!

Another paid Farmin who feels threatened for his job because the volunteers do it free. If you count the hours per year you will actually find that the average volunteer puts in more time on actual calls than the average paid fireman. That's a fact jack!

  4. I'd rather depend on the volunteers than the smart a$$ paid firefighters any day. Why does that attitude have to come along with a fireman? Like I'm better, look at me - I don't get it. Please explain.

  5. When you get done gloating about the fact that you managed to respond to three calls lets take a look back. Where were you when you were realerted and failed to respond on several alarms this week and throughout the month. There are factual statistics to prove this observation if you wish to see them. You need to tell the truth before you are exposed by reality.

  6. Hoppes arrogance must have rubbed
off on the rest of the crew---have never seen anyone who thinks they are as "entitled" as he.

  7. 12:22, Yeah, let us call you out on this one. Show us the 'factual statistics that prove this observation'. I would think many of us would wish to see them. Then we can all be 'exposed by reality'?

  8. I have 2 questions.
    To the paid firemen
How many calls do you volunteer on while you are not on the clock.

    To the volunteers
Which vehicle do you take when you go to get your lunch?

  9. Of course they can handle them. They have the homeless leave your wife club staying there are the time.

Many, many paid firefighters are also volunteers. Let's look at Delmar. The Chief is a paid FF officer for SFD, and there are numerous paid SFD ff's in their ranks. Oh, and the Command Vehicle goes to the duty officer and he is allowed to used it to go around the area on personal business, and take his family with him if he pleases. Now just go away until you learn how the fire service operates. Oh yea, btw, we use the tanker to fill our pools too. Makes for some good training.

  13. Having been a volunteer EMT in another state, I can say the main difference between volly's & paid is that the volly's WANT to help when help is needed. To the paid crews it's a paycheck.
