BEL AIR, Md. (AP) -- A Harford County woman has been charged with animal cruelty after authorities say she left her dog in an overheated car while she went shopping.
The sheriff's office says Daphne Luckhardt was arrested after deputies were called Friday afternoon to the parking lot of the Kohl's department store in Forest Hill.
Luckhardt is accused of leaving an Australian cattle/Beagle mix dog in a car while she went shopping. The windows were slightly open.

ReplyDeleteIgnorance such as this calls for a good dose of public humiliation and ridicule. She should be 'sentenced' to stand outside of the store w/a sign saying "I'm the dumb arse that left my dog in the car in 90 degree weather while I shopped."
ReplyDeleteLast summer that cop did the same thing and "the authority's" asked for privacy for the family, no charges filed.
ReplyDeleteWhy is this woman being charged when COPS GET OFF?
3:48 I have another idea---put her in a hot car with signs all over it proclaiming what she did to the animal!
ReplyDeletePeople---they never cease to amaze me of their ignorance!
So Sad!
ReplyDeletelock her in a hot car.
ReplyDeleteThis should be done year round whether hot or cold. Any idiot who drives around with a pet in their car should be fined/arrested.
ReplyDelete1:13AM What an idiotic statement. Is this an example of drinking and typing?
ReplyDelete10:01 It's extreme, yes... but not idiotic. First off, most people who drive with dogs in their cars have those little yappers that ride on their lap, or over their arm... which is more dangerous than driving with a cell phone up to your ear. Also, they're the people who decide "oh, I'll just run in here for a minute" and leave said yapper in the car.
ReplyDeleteI did not publish the comment you were referring to, but can see their logic.
why do people take their dogs with them everywhere they go? I don't understand this. Is it the grown up version of needing to have their teddy or blankie with them all the time? I wouldn't take my dog any place where I knew he would have to wait in the car.
