Yesterday I received a call from a viewer telling me that a relative of someone very high up at PRMC told one of their employees that their Boss was on the "sh!t list" now. They explained how this person expressed that the Police were now involved and investigating every single person who wrote comments on Salisbury News.
They went on the say that they had the names of all of the people and charges were to follow. TALK ABOUT A COMPLETE LOAD OF CRAP!
PRMC may be a big employer in Salisbury but let me assure you, NO ONE ever did or said anything illegal. The rumor being spread could come back and bite that person and others because at least one person is considering a lawsuit.
If YOU have heard something similar, trust me, PRMC cannot access IP Addresses. Google would tell them to shove it.
The Police and States Attorney are very honorable people. I have been at this for 9 years now and even they have admitted, I know my boundaries better than ANYONE else out there and I have NEVER crossed that line. None of you have either. That is, none of those comments that might cross that line get published.
You have to THREATEN someone's life to get investigated and even if you do that in Maryland it's not a criminal offense. Saying you don't like someone. Saying you disagree or that you are disgusted with people having sex on the job is your First Amendment Right. It is NOT illegal. It is not criminal. Therefore NO POLICE will get involved. The threat from this relative backing PRMC is a LIE.
How silly. What do they think everyone was born yesterday? Just because you have an IP address doesn't mean you have names. The only thing an IP tells is the device not the person behind it.
ReplyDeleteAlso it would never happen this quickly. Subpoena needed, court official signs after proof of either civil suit or needed for a criminal investigation, then Blogger has a procedure in place for subpoena submission and they need time to get records together and generally there is a fee. Records turned over then subpoena needed from each individual service provider also costs money. It would take months and months to accomplish this so it's all BS.
"The threat from this relative backing PRMC is a LIE."
ReplyDeleteyes it's a lie and a stupid one at that. This uninformed liar needs to grow a brain snd learn how computer forensics work before spreading assine rumors that do nothing more than prove how ignorant they are.
Not happening. First off BlogSpot who powers this blog would have to be subpoenaed. Then after that each individual comment would have to be matched against that and each internet service provider also subpoenaed and then that would still not tell you anything other than what computer the comment came from not the person making the comment.
ReplyDeletedoesnt matter, the uneducated will still be poopin themselves in fear.
ReplyDeleteDid you honestly not expect repercussions from the original post? Every time I log on to your site I'm expecting the other shoe to drop.Thank goodness you are covered.
ReplyDeleteJust another imitating tactic being used by PRMC's management. Come on down union and talk with the staff. These people need protection from the Big Black Bear.
ReplyDeleteWith this kind of money being thrown away, I am not going to pay my PRMC bill !
ReplyDeleteGoogle has one of the many Internet facing IP address of the hospital. Consequently, so does the NSA! There is an almost 0% chance that Google hs the IP adress of the machine that made the post, since most are behind a router on a private network.
ReplyDeleteIf an employee accesses a PRMC computer to make a post, assume that they know which computer the post came from. If it's exclusively issued to you, or you logged in to the computer to make a post, assume they know that you made one of several comments, and they can approximately match it via comment time stamps. This would be a strong case for disciplinary action regarding inappropriate use of hospital resources if their HR Guide or network Terms of Service forbid you taking such action.
So....if you really want to vent on company time...find a station that is already logged in and frequently used by a lot of people. This would represent a potential HIPAA violation to give unrestricted access to the network. Make your comment there. They might put pressure on a coworker if they were logged in at the time. So choose your favorite slacker or worst unit manager's account. But if they ever come back to you, at least you have something negative to yell and scream about if they seek repercussions despite your denying that you made the post. They have a poor case against you, and you have important, embarrassing information about them. I bet they drop the matter.
Or...use a smart phone that isn't on their network. Nothing they can do with this method.
This site is blocked in schools by the Wicomico board of ed.

ReplyDeleteThere are ways around a block. How many teachers do you think have a smart phone where they can access this site on their own personal phone?
Good luck to any poor smuckk that's is stll there and trapped!
ReplyDeleteObviously the directors of PRMC need to be canned. The 1rst amendment sucks for you.
ReplyDeleteSbynews is blocked on PRMC's computers. Except for the administrator's and director's. They can access it. They are special like that.
ReplyDeleteSame with dr. Johnny at the b.o.e. 8:52.
