Problems With Flies?

Try this trick if you are experiencing flies around the home. Put 4 pennies in a ziplock bag half filled with water, zip it closed and hang it up in a spot where flies tend to come. Bigger areas may require a few "penny/water bags". For some reason, flies seem to avoid these areas. A quick google search shows success from various sources. There seems to be varying theories as to why it works including the bag may appear as a nest to the fly and the water/bag/penny combination gives a prism light affect to the insect. It seems to work. Good Luck!!

  2. You don't need the pennies. It works without them. You see, they fly up there, see their refection , and think they might be a relative of Obama.

  4. This "myth" was busted by Mythbusters. Also, when this was tested by "Science", the results netted a higher fly activity in the areas with the bags.

Chalk this myth up to placebo effects. Will not work. Just buy a fly trap/sticky paper.

  5. We saw this method used in Florida and there weren't any flies. We were near the water eating king crab legs. We just couldn't remember if there were pennies inside the bag. Use a snack bag.

  6. What about in Canada where they stopped manufacturing pennies? Just kidding, but they did stop making them and may do so here eventually.

  7. It doesn't work. We tried it last night. No flies on the bag just all over us. A fly swatter is far more effective.
