Salisbury MD – County Executive Pollitt has announced that Glen Avenue will be closed for the following commencement ceremonies held at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center during the month of May.
Please be aware that on the following dates, from 5pm to 10pm, Glen Avenue will be blocked off to thru traffic:
· Tuesday, May 7 – Wor-Wic Community College
· Saturday, May 18 – Salisbury University 8AM – 5PM
· Tuesday, May 28 – James M. Bennett High School
· Wednesday, May 29 – Parkside High School
· Friday, May 31 – Wicomico High School
Since 2010, County Executive Pollitt has closed Glen Avenue during major events for the safety and well-being of participants and attendees.
Maybe DHS can bring some of their "toys" and have everyone shelter in place.
ReplyDeleteTranslation of article: From the dawn of time until Ricky had his revelation folks attending events at the Civic Center had the ability to look both ways before crossing the street. Since then, not so much.
ReplyDeleteIf anyone is projected to use Pollit Park for an event, aka his overflow parking, then the street is blocked. Generally the blockage is in effect before posted hours and persists after the posted time.
Absurd.
Odd, Wi Hi never has to be rebuilt. Guess those contractors knew what they were doing.
ReplyDeleteIs'nt Wi Hi all on one floor? That might factor in.Not sure about Bennett, but I think it had 2 floors. An engineer would have to chime in as to how much difference that makes when it comes to longevity.
ReplyDeleteTypical Salisburians complaining about anything they can. You people need hobbies or something.
ReplyDelete11:15 we have the same hobby as you apparently. It's called the blog. Now don't go denying it.
DeleteUm, yes, 9:25, any building over one story has twice the collapse rate as a one story. Just look at Wi Middle School.
ReplyDeleteGood Lord, did you even GO to a school?
