Eyewitnesses of the shootout that killed one of the Boston bombing suspects believe that police officer Richard Donohue was injured and almost killed by his colleagues, who were firing at the fleeing suspect.
In a 10-minute shootout in Watertown, Boston Marathon bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev was fatally injured, while his brother Dzhokhar escaped. Donohue, a 33-year-old transit officer, took a gunshot to his right thigh and suffered severe blood loss that sent him into cardiac arrest and almost killed him.
With a severed femoral vein and artery, the wounded officer lost all of his own blood and his heart stopped beating for 45 minutes before he was resuscitated.
Initial reports made no mention of the cause of Donohue's gunshot wounds, but newly-released eye reports suggest that he was struck by friendly fire. Rob Mullen, a Watertown resident and eyewitness, told the Boston Globe that he watched as all the officers fired simultaneously at the black SUV that the Dzokhar used to escape.
“Every cop out there just unloaded everything he had on the SUV,” Mullen said, recalling the scene as he saw it from the second-floor window of his house on Laurel Street.

Reckless endangerment is reckless endangerment whether is it done by a guy shooting a shotgun in a neighborhood OR by a dozen cops firing every round they have in their possession in the GENERAL DIRECTION (north, south, or "up the street" a ways) of whatever those sissies are afraid of at the time. HUNDREDS of rounds, in a densely populated area (remember the rule "know what's downrange and beyond your target" before you fire?) and they end up almost killing one of their own? Sort of like those brave LA cops who opened up with everything they had on a vehicle that merely LOOKED like it MIGHT have been the same vehicle they were hunting. Who was actually inside? INNOCENT people. You or I shoot someone WE are "afraid of" (and who, by the way, is pointing a weapon at us or even HAVE a weapon) and we do 25-life. Any cops lose their job? Go to jail for wetting their pants because someone was shooting at THEM? LOL! I was surprised that the LA cops didn't follow Chris Rock's advice and "sprinkle a little crack" on 'em, or claimed they "smelled marijuana"....And the cops want to tell US if its okay for us to have a gun? HILARIOUS! I won't even discuss the NY cops who shot dozens of rounds in every direction, even hitting second story objects, but thats about all they hit....
ReplyDelete^^ clueless^^
ReplyDeleteDid I miss any facts? Did the police shoot at a car without knowing who was really in there? Do the police routinely "spray and pray" and to hell with who may get hit? Refute what I said. And sign your name, you sissy.
ReplyDeleteAnd tell me --- what would I be charged with if I emptied, along with a couple of friends, every round I had in my weapon, at a car I THOUGHT was being driven by someone who said they were going to kill me? I (a regular citizen) might go to prison for shooting someone IN MY HOUSE! Cops have a lot of power, but it ain't UNLIMITED power. Surprised, huh?
ReplyDeleteGot your tin foil hat on?? You need it. Police were involved in a drawn out active gun battle, nothing different being in Iraq. Which I spent 16 months in being shot at. I hope they fired every round they had until the pieces of s@#$ were dead. Not only that, police had explosives thrown at them. What would you like them to do? Not defend themselves? The only pants wetting sissy in this is YOU!!!!! Typical liberal, hide by the computer, sissy liberal who has NEVER served anyone but yourself.
ReplyDeleteRegistered Republican. Vote EVERY election. Honorably discharged Vietnam-era veteran. Gun owner w/permit. Homeowner. Taxpayer. No criminal record. And I hit what I shoot at. And have never run or hid from anything. I don't need 100 rounds to hit a target and when you are in a civilian area, you DO NOT fire everything you have in the GENERAL DIRECTION of a criminal or you didn't learn THAT in the military? You DON'T put automatic weapons cover fire down on people in an AMERICAN neighborhood. Maybe in Iraq. Not here. Someone shoots at the police, they have every right to shoot back and kill. Every right. But NO right to shoot at cars because they were afraid (THEIR words, not mine), trying to kill people they couldn't even SEE? You condone that? Or do you just condone a military-type invasion of the kind done in Boston? Sorry to blow your "liberal sissy" speculation/accusations away, but I'm merely pointing out that the laws SHOULD apply EQUALLY, if not even more so, to the people given the authority to kill us. Try to think more rationally. And work on that stress syndrome, son.
ReplyDeleteSecondly, answer the questions I posed.
ReplyDeleteWow someone as irrational and clueless as you isn't worth try justify anything too. I guess you we in the "rear with the gear" in Vietnam. Oh yeah 58,000 rounds per enemy killed in Vietnam. Average police shooting- 7 rounds fired per kill. And you have the balls to question police on "spray and pray" Give me a break, you've clearly never seen combat.
ReplyDeleteIt's not against ANY law for a police officer under attack to DO ANYTHING necessary to survive. I don't care if they did fire a hundred rounds. They could care less what wetpants pansy like you has to say.
GREAT JOB DONE BY EVERYONE IN BOSTON!!!!
Put your Nazi uniform back on and wear it proudly. You didn't "justify" anything because you can't. You MUST be a cop. I refer you to the hundreds of video's and thousands of court cases where cops weren't "under attack", but shot at, and sometimes killed, civilians. Seven rounds per kill huh? THAT is what is called selective use of information. How about "rounds fired per incident"? America is ruled by law, not your self-styled bad-ass "I am the law" hero image. Answer the questions --- do you condone the military invasion of an American city? Do you condone the hero police opening fire on a vehicle when they don't even know who is inside or if they even have a weapon? Do you think the Constitution is a real document? What charges would you (as a cop) charge ME with if I and a few friends opened fire on your mothers car because I was afraid of the car she was driving, with some children inside, too??? Answer them, then get to the VA hospital for some more counseling....they might even have a library there where you can look up the Constitution. And finally, one more time --- equating and using military combat tactics and weaponry in a third world country with crime fighting techniques in America is EXACTLY how we have come to this point of overbearing, to hell with the law, armored troop carriers and hollow point ammo for civilian law enforcement. "GREAT JOB..."??? WTF?? The 9,000 police didn't do anything. A CIVILIAN found the guy. I guess by "GREAT JOB" you mean acting like the SS and finding NO ONE....LOL!!! Nothing "irrational" about any of that. Facts. Truth. I know, I know....it hurts. Man up.
