I Can't Encourage You Enough To Watch This Video

  1. Has anyone stopped to think that the people endorsing Jake Day and Ireton are going to get paid back for their support if those two win? Why does Jim Perdue care about the election of a place where he doesn't live? I'm told his company literally uses millions of gallons of city water, while also sending millions of gallons of waste to the sewer plant. You think he isn't interested in a deal that would lower that cost? Ireton is right now considering that very deal. Wake up people!

  5. If Ireton and Day win the people of Salisbury will get exactly what they deserve in the form of higher taxes and higher water and sewer fees plus any other fees Ireton can dream up.

  13. Jim Ireton states several times that he supports "his" city employees? What about the city employee who was "terminated" with malice with his blessing by a rogue department head. I know for a fact Mr. Ireton will be losing a lot of votes based on this issue alone.

Hopefully Mayor Albero will correct this problem.

So the mayor wants us to drink our own human waste products? This affects everyone in the county that has water. This affects everyone in the County that visits restaurants because your drinking water and ice will be recycled human pee and poop. That's a great mayor we have here in Salisbury.

  17. This Mayor has never given city employees a raise. He's given select departments, police and fire. He also asked for several of his own staff to receive raises last year including giving Lore a three step increase. One step is 8% so she got a 24% raise in a year when most city employees received a pay cut via higher health insurance rates on top of no raise.

  19. Got a big Vote Jake Day for Salisbury City Council flyer in the mail today. WHY is this flyer paid for by the National Association of REALTORS??????? Why does this national organization have such an interest in the Salisbury City Council election??? Something stinks to high heaven when national organizations are paying to support a city council candidate.

  22. City employees,
Do you know that the council tried to give you a straight $850 buns at the end of the year in addition to doing the salary study? Ireton refused to advance the amendment. It would have equaled much more than 2% annually for those on the lower end of the pay scale. I talked to Campbell and she suspects that the highest levels are well paid while lower levels are not. A 2% across the board screws the low wage earners and pads the pockets of the highest. Don believe me? Do the math. My vote will go to Campbell. I am a city employee and live in the city.

  23. When will pac14 graduate from being the microphone in the back of the room complete with coughs, fumbles, and bad sound and actually tap in to the sound system here? Is this the broadcasting talents being taught at our local university? Is Salisbury University a bunch of amateur eavesdroppers, or do they actually offer a class in broadcasting?

  24. 2:51 who mentioned Pepsi?

Either way, the citizens of Salisbury pay much more per gallon for water than either Perdue or Pepsi. Now the Mayor wants to reduce that amount even more. Keep in mind this is during this terrible economic time. A time when city employees have been furloughed, seen pay cuts, had positions frozen or eliminated or been forced into retirement. Oh yeah, then there is the matter of $50 million needed to fix the sewer plant. Now is not the time to give large corporations handouts. The only way that a lower price for water and sewer should be given to them is if they expand and contractually agree to hire a significant number of full time employees that make a defined, liveable wage. In other words they need to give Salisbury something new if they expect a reduction in paying their part.

  25. Neither Jim Ireton or Jake Day have said how they are going to pay for all their grand schemes.

Sounds like more giveaways to friends while sticking it to all the rest of us.
