Chicken Processing Plant Worker: I Will Never Eat Fast Food Nuggets Again
While there are plenty of people who would rather not imagine where their food comes from, many of us would like to know more about how, for example, a chicken goes from clucking and pecking to one of four shapes of Chicken McNugget. During a recent “Ask Me Anything” session on Reddit, a current employee of a Perdue chicken processing plant was glad to answer questions, as well as admit he or she will never eat chicken nuggets from a fast food joint ever again.
Where are the INSPECTIONS?
ReplyDeleteOh no there goes one of the basic food staples of the American pre-school child. What's next Spaghetti-Os?
ReplyDeleteWe don't need spend money on any dang inspections, right? All we care about is tax reductions.
ReplyDeleteIf you ever saw how hot dogs were made, you would never eat them again either. It has nothing to do with inspections-it is what it is.
ReplyDeleteI've seen worse in several plants. Perdue isn't as bad as some others have been but it is NOT clean. This person is right and anyone who worked in any of these plants knows it is true.
ReplyDeleteThey treat their product much better than their employees....
ReplyDeleteThe plant employees work their butts off for the lowest wages they can get away with and the least benefits they can get away with. The corporate employees get moved in from out of state, relocated - buy a new house then get laid off in the downturn...can't go back to the old job and you can't afford the house you're now in.....unemployment and bankruptcy....with no equivalent jobs here on the shore...you're hosed!
SOME people think it is the best job on earth.
ReplyDeleteSecurity guards think they are F.B.I.
Admin thinks they are producing gold bars.
Jockey drivers think they are the best thing since sliced bread.
Production workers think they are chemists or something.
Truck drivers think they are knights of the round table feeding the world.
lol. But love my chicken from Popeye's.
