UW MADISON STUDENTS: 'UNFAIR' THAT OBAMA COULDN'T USE TELEPROMPTER IN DEBATE

Thousands of President Obama supporters turned out in in Madison, Wisc., for a rally following Wednesday night’s debate in Denver. The mood was somber, to say the least, as they waited to enter Bascom Mall at the University of Wisconsin Thursday afternoon. University of Wisconsin students and fellow Wisconsinites had mixed reviews on the president's performance.

I talked to supporters of the president who had watched the debate, asking how they thought the president did. One after the other said they were left unimpressed and “not inspired,” seemingly depressed and lethargic in their continuing support of the president.'

The Top 10 Human Foods To Avoid Feeding Pets

Veterinarian Dr. Katy Nelson says some human foods are worse than others when it comes to feeding our pets.
Here's what not to feed dogs or cats and why:
    1. Chocolate: Extreme caffeine-like effects, dosage dependent. Side effects range from mild to moderate GI upset, muscle tremors, hyperthermia, seizures and even death.
    2. Grapes and Raisins: Nephrotoxic side effects, dosage dependent. Side effects range from mild GI side upset all the way to Acute Renal Failure and death.
    3. Onions and Garlic: These products contain volatile oils which can lead to vomiting, breakdown of red blood cells (hemolytic anemia, Heinz body anemia), blood in urine, weakness, high heart rate and panting.

Brand WASTE

The federal government’s latest taxpayer-funded effort to promote U.S. tourism is dogged by lavish spending, cronyism, and questionable accounting, according to a report released Thursday by two U.S. Senators.

The report, issued by Sens. Jim DeMint (R., S.C.) and Tom Coburn (R., Okla.), details questionable practices by Brand USA, a public-private corporation established in 2010 by Congress to promote U.S. tourism.

“It is immoral to ask the federal government to shell out $100 million every year to pay for high ranking executives to enjoy parties in London and luxury suites at major league baseball games in the name of ‘travel promotion,’” Coburn said in a statement. “With millions out of work and our national debt surpassing $16 trillion, this is the kind of indulgence we need to say no to.”

Why?

Did you ever wonder why a nation so rich in energy resources, with proven reserves of crude oil and natural gas, would spend trillions of dollars buying petroleum from countries that hate everything we stand for, knowing that every dollar we send to them strengthens them and weakens us and at the same time, turns down a reliable supply of oil from Canada, our best friend in the world?
Why has the education of the children, who are America's future, been put in the hands of a self-serving, politically motivated teacher's union, which, by its own admission, cannot stand up to the testing it would require to certify that their members are even qualified to teach in the first place?
Why is the supply and flow of our currency controlled by one man, who at his whim can strangle the amount of money in circulation or flood the world with cheap dollars at the very real danger of devaluing the dollar and bringing on hyperinflation?

SURVEILLANCE CAMERA CAPTURES VIOLENT SCHOOL BEATING: ‘EVERY PARENT’S WORST NIGHTMARE’

A surveillance camera captured a disturbing and violent school beating at a middle school in Indiana. Now, the teenager and his parents are suing the school district because they say it isn’t doing enough to prevent instances of bullying.
In the video, 13-year-old Austin McDaniel is put into a choke hold and slammed to the ground by a 15-year-old student. The bully then proceeded to punch McDaniel incessantly, delivering dozens of blows until his victim is beaten unconscious.
Students can be seen all around watching the incident, however, no one steps in to help McDaniel — they just watch.

Sources: FBI Suspects Border Agent Killed Accidentally by Fellow Agent

The FBI suspects that a Border Patrol agent who died this week in a shooting just north of the Mexico-Arizona border was killed by one of his fellow agents, sources tell Fox News.
That development comes on a day when officials from multiple federal law enforcement agencies met with local authorities about the shooting that killed Agent Nicholas Ivie, according to Fox News' law enforcement sources. Those sources say they have made important progress and suspect that Ivie and another agent may have shot at each other accidentally while pursuing drug-runners.
Investigators aren't sure if the drug-runners fired on the agents.

93 Year-Old Wheelchair-Bound Woman Gets Photo ID In One Day After Losing Initial PA Voter ID Lawsuit

For the first time, Philadelphia resident Viviette Applewhite actually got a state-issued photo ID from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
It was an important moment that went practically unnoticed when it it took place in August, according to Horace Cooper of Project 21 and Justin Danhof, general counsel for the National Center for Public Policy.
“Applewhite is 93-years-old, does not drive, is confined to a wheelchair, lacks many personal identification documents, and yet she managed to get herself -- with no assistance from the ACLU -- to her local PennDot office, where she was issued an ID,” Danhof explained.

Romney Says He was 'Completely Wrong' About '47 Percent' Comments

FISHERSVILLE, Va - Mitt Romney for the first time characterized his comments during a fundraiser that were surreptitiously filmed and caught the candidate essentially writing off 47 percent of Americans as "completely wrong."

"Clearly in a campaign with hundreds if not thousands of speeches and question and answer sessions, now and then you're gonna say something that doesn't come out right," Romney said in an interview Wednesday night with Fox News' Sean Hannity. "In this case I said something that's just completely wrong."

Romney went on to say that his life has shown he cares about "100 percent and that's been demonstrated through my life and this whole campaign is about the 100 percent."

ENDGAME: How Iran's Hyperinflation Will Lead To Regime Change

Iran has captured a lot of attention this week as inflation spirals out of control and the Iranian rial is quickly becoming worthless.
Yesterday, the rapidly falling value of the rial sparked serious street protests in Iran.
Now, the question becomes: Is the hyperinflation currently underway in Iran going to be the straw that finally breaks the camel's back?
The West certainly hopes so.

That's the whole point of the forceful Western sanctions placed on Iran's oil exports and even imports of basic goods and the Iranian banks being completely frozen out of the international financial system.
The sanctions have been in effect since July, but the situation is really just now starting to get worse as it becomes crystal clear to Iranians that their monetary authority has completely run out of the foreign exchange reserves they need to defend the value of their quickly plunging rial

Hidden Powers of Your Mouse

You use your mouse for just about everything: you drag, you drop, you highlight, you scroll. But even if you click your mouse a thousand times a day, I bet I've got a few secret mouse tricks you've never heard of.
Click Tricks
You surely know that double clicking highlights a word, and you might even know that triple clicking highlights a paragraph. But have you ever wanted to select a column of text in a Word document, without getting all the text to the left and right of it? Here's how you can: Hold down the alt and left mouse button (on a Mac, option-left mouse), and drag the cursor over the section you want to select. The coolest thing about this trick is that the text you are selecting does not even need to be formatted as a column for this to work.
Scroll Tricks
Most mice have a scroll wheel. Sure, it takes you up and down on a page, but in combination with other keys, it can do much more:
  • Scroll sideways: In many versions of Excel, holding down the shift key while scrolling will take you sideways. That's super helpful in a big spreadsheet.
  • Scroll wheel as back button: In most web browsers, if you hold the shift key while using the scroll wheel, it works like the back button: You can fly through all the sites you've recently visited. (Some mice have side buttons that work like back and forward buttons in your browser, too.)
  • Scroll to zoom: Holding ctrl and scrolling lets you zoom in or out of the page you're viewing. Ctrl-scroll up zooms you in; ctrl-scroll down zooms you back out. On a Mac, this trick will zoom in and out your whole screen, not just the document you're in.

OCTOBER SURPRISE? OBAMA SECRET IRAN DEAL CUT

Iran could announce a temporary halt to uranium enrichment before next month’s U.S. election in a move to save Barack Obama’s presidency, a source affiliated with high Iranian officials said today.

The delegation urged the Iranian leader to announce a halt to enrichment, even if temporary, before the Nov. 6 election, promising removal of some sanctions.

Black Mamba Venom Better Than Morphine

The deadly venom of the black mamba contains a painkiller as powerful as morphine, without most of the side effects, James Gallagher of BBC reports.
French scientists found that the venom, which black mamba use to paralyze and kill small animals, also contains a potent painkiller.
The findings, published in the journal Nature, baffled the researchers.
Morphine is an effective painkiller but is also "addictive and causes headaches, difficulty thinking, vomiting and muscle twitching," writes the BBC.
Black mamba venom, on the hand, contains proteins called mambalgins that block pain through a completely different route and seem to produce few side-effects.

Many States Fall Short Of Federal Sex Offender Law

Nearly three dozen states have failed to meet conditions of a 2006 federal law that requires them to join a nationwide program to track sex offenders, including five states that have completely given up on the effort because of persistent doubts about how it works and how much it costs.
The states, including some of the nation's largest, stand to lose millions of dollars in government grants for law enforcement, but some have concluded that honoring the law would be far more expensive than simply living without the money.
"The requirements would have been a huge expense," said Doris Smith, who oversees grant programs at the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration. Lawmakers weren't willing to spend that much, even though the state will lose $226,000.

NO MORE NEWSWEEK, NO MORE BOOKS?

The competing opinions continue apace.
Will people almost wholesale go over to digital literature? Or is there still a place for printed pieces? No one knows for sure, of course, but a story broke recently that is juicy for readers.
Barry Diller, chairman of IAC/InterActiveCorp, said that there is a plan to end the print edition of Newsweek. The comments came from IAC’s “quarterly earnings call,” and no doubt traditional printers are apoplectic.

Chevy Dealer Really Sorry About Having Customer Arrested Over Pricing Error

When the folks at a Chevy dealership in Virginia realized they had accidentally sold a customer a car for $5,600 less than they should have, they could have just eaten the difference and stewed about it for a bit. Instead, they tried to get the customer to pay the extra money — and then had him arrested for car theft when he refused.

According to lawsuits filed by the customer, he test-drove a blue 2012 Chevrolet Traverse back in May, but when it came time to actually buy the vehicle, he opted for a black one. He signed a promissory note and traded in his old car.

The next day, the customer decided that he really wanted the blue one after all and brought back his new Traverse to see if he could swap them out.

Task Force Arrests 21 Gang Members, Seizes $680K In Drugs

A wiretap investigation in Harford County led to the arrest of 21 gang members who authorities say moved multiple pounds of heroin and cocaine through the Baltimore area each week.

Investigators said they believe the gang going by the name "World's Most Dangerous" is also responsible for street robberies and other violence in Harford County. In the words of one task force member, the wiretap investigation has had a huge impact on stemming the flow of drugs.
Edgewater Village sits near the epicenter of operations for World's Most Dangerous, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office.

USDA Diversity Training Session Included 'Illegal Immigrants' Chant, Group Claims

The U.S. government paid a Chicago consultant hundreds of thousands of dollars to put on diversity training workshops that, according to one watchdog, included an exercise in which employees were told to chant "our forefathers were illegal immigrants."
Conservative group Judicial Watch made the claim this week as it released a handful of documents pertaining to the program -- and alleged that the sessions ended up enforcing political views more than promoting tolerance.
"Instead of being diversity-oriented or tolerance-oriented, it's more about adopting a mindset," said Lisette Garcia, a senior investigator with the group. "It seemed to go so far as to encourage illegal immigration."

Don't Cry For Us, Mitt Romney

Mitt Romney and the GOP establishment desperately need a few million votes in order to beat Obama in the 2012 General Election. The GOP could have had most of the Ron Paul voter support if Romney had named either Ron Paul or Rand Paul as his VP running mate.

Had the Romney Campaign held in check the Republican Party leadership's goon squad that made a mockery of the democratic process in the Republican Party primaries and caucuses as well as the national GOP convention, Romney might have captured 50 percent or more of Ron Paul voters and supporters, even without a Paul on the ticket. But he didn't and actions always have consequences.

Reflecting Pool Closes Again In Effort To Remove Algae

The Lincoln Memorial reflecting pool is empty once again, and it will remain that way for at least another week.
The historic site reopened in late August after nearly two years of construction. While the U.S.

National Park Service says the $34 million renovation has been successful and will save the city about 32 million gallons of water per year, the buildup of green algae in the pool came as a surprise.

The National Park Service says it could have waited for the algae to disintegrate and go through the pool's filtering system.

YOU CAN'T FOOL A SCOTTISH CADDY

During his golfing vacation at Martha's Vineyard - President Obama had been slicing off the tee on every hole.

He asks his Scottish born caddy if he has noticed any obvious reasons for his poor tee shots, to which the caddy replies:

"Aye, there's a piece of shyt on the end of yer driver."

The President picks up his driver and cleans the club face, at which pointthe caddy says:

"No, the other end."

Doggone, They Lied To Us AGAIN

Remember “fusion centers”? Under the Department of Homeland Security’s aegis, their bumbling bureaucrats unabashedly spy on taxpayers while painting anyone who opposes Leviathan in even the smallest degree as a terrorist. Or, as the DHS puts it, “State and major urban area fusion centers (fusion centers) serve as focal points within the state and local environment for the receipt, analysis, gathering, and sharing of threat-related information between the federal government and state, local, tribal, territorial ... and private sector partners.”

Yep, “fusion centers” are yet another boondoggle that enriches Our Rulers and their corporate cronies while decimating liberty. No one who understands the State expected otherwise. But now “Congressional investigators” have caught on: they’ve announced that “fusion centers” have “failed to provide virtually any useful intelligence. … The report found that the centers ‘forwarded intelligence of uneven quality – oftentimes shoddy, rarely timely, sometimes endangering citizens’ civil liberties and Privacy Act protections, occasionally taken from already published public sources, and more often than not unrelated to terrorism.’” Oh, heavens, say it ain’t so.

Surprise, surprise: money went missing, too. “The investigators also discovered that federal officials cannot account for as much as $1.4 billion in taxpayer money earmarked for fusion centers and that some of the centers listed on paper by the Homeland Security Department do not even exist. … The fusion centers quickly became a black hole for taxpayer money …. The fusion centers were run by state and local officials, but were funded through grants to states from the Federal Emergency Management Agency with little oversight. That made it easy for state and local officials to divert the federal money earmarked for the centers to other things, including sport utility vehicles and dozens of flat-screen televisions for use by state and local agencies.”

Chart Of The Day: The Rise Of Global Central Planning

There was a time when the world had (somewhat) free markets. Then Lehman failed as the inevitable culmination of a credit bubble that was second in size and severity only to the one being blown currently, and the central planners took over, converting equity, bond and FX markets into nothing but monetary policy tools dominated by central banks. Below is a great summary of how parallel to SkyNet's HFT takeover of stock trading, the central planners conducted their own not so stealthy take over of all capital markets. The chart is open-ended. Expect much more intervention by the Big 4 in the months and years ahead as the circular nature of increased central bank intervention leading to less faith in financial markets leading to increased private sector deleveraging leading to increased-er central bank intervention and so on, accelerates.

Meet the 4 unelected dictators of the no longer even pretending to be free "developed" world.

JESSE JACKSON, WRIGHT 'ARRANGED' OBAMA MARRIAGE

Robyn, who spent several years working for Jackson’s Rainbow PUSH Coalition, explained to a WND investigator in Chicago that Michelle Obama “just about grew up in Jesse Jackson’s home.”
