Gov. Martin O’Malley used most of a review session with reporters yesterday to discuss responses to last week’s shooting at a Connecticut elementary school, but he said transportation remains a persistent concern in the state.
Maryland, he said, won’t ease traffic congestion or attract more people to public transit, until officials make the necessary investments.
O’Malley said Friday’s shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn. may serve as a catalyst for Maryland lawmakers to tighten the state’s gun laws, especially those governing assault weapons.

That"s funny! tighten the state’s gun laws will ease traffic congestion.
ReplyDeleteHe (omalley) can find enough money to plaster his name on every park bench and road sign and now says MORE gun laws will help traffic congestion? It might if we just shot every dumb ace driving 45 in the left lane for 30 miles, but otherwise, I can't see the logic. Unless the big picture is omalley getting to the forefront of gun control so he can begin to make himself a national political figure --- which he can't do if just sticks to his job. Further, how does someone who kills with handguns translate in to an attack on RIFLES? Are our "leaders" THAT stupid? Answer, yes -- facts never got in the way of politicians.
