ReplyDeleteEpstein's Department Store, Bromo Seltzer Tower, The Enchanted Forest in another hard to pronouce unless you are from here- MD town of Ellicott City.
ReplyDeleteyou know your from the shore when you want the bridge shut down
ReplyDeleteYou know you are born on the Shore when absolutely none of those things are familiar to you! Title should read "You know you are from Western Maryland when...
ReplyDeleteIn the 1960's into the early 70's before it got too dangerous and the departments stores closed, we took a twice yearly trip to go shopping to Baltimore's Lexington St so I know all the mentioned stores. We went after July 4th to get the end of summer sales and just after New Years to get those sales.
ReplyDeleteI agree with 11:36
ReplyDeleteI really wish I could still go to Polock Johnnies and get an unburger.
ReplyDeleteAmen 1136, I was thinking the same thing when i was reading it..
ReplyDeleteAhhhhh the Enchanted Forest. Lots of fond memories there.
ReplyDelete11:36
ReplyDeleteI am from Western Maryland and I don't know half of these things. I think most are around the Baltimore area.
11:36-Most of it's Greek to me and I've lived here all my life.
ReplyDeleteThese aren't for Shore people. Those of us who have been here forever know that.
ReplyDelete11:36 is right except he should have said Baltimore. The Eastern Shore differs greatly from Baltimore as does Western Maryland.

Naw, the bridge is a good asset. It's the idiots that turn right onto 50 instead of continuing on north on 301 that we don't want.
Cross the bridge and keep heading north. They like you up there.
