Olympic Games in Baltimore-Washington Region Is Win-Win

In the most hotly contested bidding process in the history of the International Olympic Committee, the Baltimore-Washington region lost its bid for the 2012 Olympics.

However, the dream remains alive, especially for Dan Knise, the CEO of the 2012 coalition, who appears to be up for the task again.

Knise is now setting his sights on the 2024 Games, and testing the waters to determine whether the civic and financial support is as optimistic as he is.

    The games are too expensive. Marylanders would be stuck with a multi-billion dollar bill for them. Our state is alreay broke!

    Spend 50 million to make 1 million not very profitable.

    The London games were estimated to cost 4 billion. Last time I looked they'd spent closer to 14 billion.


    I live in DC. I have no interest whatsoever in seeing the Olympics come here. Now, I would love to see an Indy race like they have in Baltimore now.

    The roads and transit system can barely keep up with the people they have there already. If they have the olympics there it will be a gridlock.
