Route 9 Truck Route in Georgetown Will be Closed for Full Depth Reclamation
Georgetown --
WHEN: Monday, July 16 through Friday, August 3
Work Hours: 7 a.m. until 7 p.m., Monday through Thursday
At 7 p.m. each day, the roadway will be open to all traffic.
WHERE: Route 9 (Truck Route) between Route 9 and South Bedford Street Extended
in Georgetown
WHAT: This reconstruction work will be a full-depth reclamation process. Work like this rebuilds worn out asphalt pavements by recycling the existing roadway. The old asphalt and base materials are pulverized, mixed with emulsified asphalt, and compacted to produce a strong durable base for either an asphalt or concrete surface. This is an environmental friendly process. The contractor for these improvements is George & Lynch/E. J. Brenneman.
At all times, local residents and truck deliveries will have access. There may be some delays encountered due to clearing of equipment from the roadway, but accommodations will be made for their access. The operation is weather sensitive and could be impacted by rain.
Variable message boards will be placed to notify motorists of the upcoming closure and detour routes.
