Perhaps the single biggest if not most frustrating void for folks stuck on gluten-free diets is about to be finally filled: home-delivered pizza.
Monday, Domino's, the world's largest delivery pizza chain, will announce plans to sell a pizza made with a gluten-free crust.
It comes as some of the biggest foodmakers and food sellers — including Frito-Lay, Subway, Anheuser-Busch and P.F. Chang's — are jumping into the $6.2 billion market for people unable to consume products made with wheat, barley and rye.

ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure these places buy premade gluten free crust. The problem is not with the crust its how the pizzas are made. Cross contamination is the biggest factor with people with celiac disease. Only dedicated kitchen areas would reduce that risk.
ReplyDeletedomino's has already said that it's for people with slight gluten allergies. They most likely are just trying to tap into the fad gluten free diet rather than offer gluten free pizza to the people that have the disease
ReplyDeleteOnly local place I would trust is Uno's. Offering gluten free is half the battle. They need to know how to prepare it correctly too.
