When you take such a picture as shown above and place it on the FRONT PAGE of today's newspaper and then QUOTE the Council President, perhaps it would be SMART to actually know WHO is the Council President and who is NOT.
You see Folks, the QUOTE actually came from MATT Holloway and NOT Joe Holloway. This is EXACTLY what I mean when you have new reporters who have NO CLUE who is who. However, remember now, this meeting was over by 2:00, plenty of time for Greg Bassett or Joe Carmean to review and edit the reporter.
If I was Gannett I'd fire the whole bunch of clowns now working for the Daily Times. Joe Holloway has been receiving calls all day long asking why in the hell he would make such a stupid statement.
Why do some of you people even buy that rag any more. By the way. I got a call about this and walked up the Plaza to buy the paper. Yeah, I know, it was killing me! Anyhow, I get all the way up there and I thought, what the hell is going on. I had walked to the GOB earlier today and saw the newspaper in their machine. However, this time, the thing was gone. That's right, the Daily Times came by and took it away. Do you think they knew I was going to catch on to it, buy a paper and rag on them? LOL Someone gave me their paper instead.
New Posts to fall below.
Now you have them under pressure to rubber stamp and publish anything as fast as they can because you are in real time and they, are way behind lol
ReplyDeleteNo time to proof read and edit.
Now everyone can clearly see - The Daily Times has no credibility.
ReplyDeleteEveryone in attendance - nearly 100 - witnessed and heard Matt Holloway say this - what does The Daily Times publish - FALSE INFORMATION.
Joe, You crack me up!! When I say the headline I was LMAO. Thanks for the laugh.I needed that today.
ReplyDeleteThat really is lame. The caliber of those calling themselves journalists these days is so bad.
ReplyDeleteLet me think, what were the words of Greg Bassett.....WINNING.
ReplyDeleteFirst off only a fool would follow Drugged out crazy man Martin Sheen's key rant.
He may be winning but I hesitate to say what he is winning.
This meeting is being re-played on PAC 14 and I, for one, am watching it to get the real facts and flavor of the meeting. I'm sure it will end up the Daily Times has screwed the public again by getting the Holloway boys mixed up.
ReplyDeleteOk--just heard on PAC 14 Matt Holloway just said what the Daily Times credited Joe Holloway as saying. LOL
ReplyDeleteYour the man, Joe.
ReplyDeleteMatt Holloway can kiss his short lived political career away.
ReplyDeleteI have noticed that he doesn't make many of the meetings.
Stevie's political career is spiraling downhill fast as well. After all she said she was a firm believer in term limits, but she is on her 4th term.
"This morning when I walked in here I was not quite sure where I was going to stand on this issue," Prettyman said.
ReplyDeleteShe is full of Sh!t. She new exactly how she was going to vote otherwise she wouldn't have called for the special meeting. She knows how to play with the voters. She needs to go.
Watching PAC 14 now, and it is a great debate & great questions from the council members regarding BMS
ReplyDeleteThe Daily rag is so out of touch with main street. They are lackees for the Libtards in this town..I want to know where do I sign the petition for SCHOOL VOCHERS and a ELECTED SCHOOL board these issue need to be voted on..I'm sick of my tax dollars being wasted on such crap as BMS. I dont have kids and do NOT wish my taxes to support this BS..Not all but most public school kids these days are as dumb as rocks
ReplyDeleteI'm kicking myself in the butt over the title.
ReplyDeleteI had better ideas I should have run with.
1) Daily Times Reporter Graduates From Bennett Middle School
2) Daily Times Reporter A Part Of The Wicomico 40%
3) Daily Times Reporter Celebrates 100th Day
Can you top those?
Well, Joe, they are the "professional" news organization as opposed to the blogosphere, who has to verify their sources before publishing their material, that's why they are releasing their stories later than the Blogs...
ReplyDeleteSchool Board members only get compensated about $2,500 per year. Who in their right mind would want to spend all that time attending board meetings for that chicken scratch pay. You want to attract more dedicated BOE members then they need to increase the pay. It's not worth the time to run a campaign to get elected.
ReplyDeleteI'm a little confused. The quotation seems to be saying that the speaker doesn't want to talk anymore about the BMS building, that we can't afford it. It was Joe Holloway, not Matt, who voted against the project. The quote would indicate that Joe said it. (I assume "kicking this can down the road" means to keep bringing the subject up).
ReplyDelete"School Board members only get compensated about $2,500 per year."
ReplyDeleteSorry, is this their TOTAL reportable income?
Like you state, why bother to try to get elected? Unless....
Hmm...

So 7:58 we should just except the appointed CZAR's ?? NOT.... elected makes them more accountable!! and vouchers would weed out the waste and obvious abuse of our tax dollars we are witnessing!! I dont want my money funding this public school racket. It is crimmal..Private schools can do it on smaller budgets, but not uncle sam..give me a friggin break
ReplyDeleteDaily Times reporter caught in time WARP and relives, "Good times" Re runs...
ReplyDeleteRememberthe theme song
easy credits a rip-off!!
With what I have witnessed with the BOE over the last few years and more specifically - recently - the entire educational institution should be shut down.
ReplyDeleteWe need an an entire overhaul. Voucher system should be instituted ASAP so as to encourage private school development. Then - the right to work should be implemented immediately.

Excuse me, but I agree with the vouchers however it would cost $3,000 or more to run a campaign. Why would anyone want to put up with the BS if it costs them money. It's not worth the compensation considering the thousands of hours required.
You missed Sunday's edition where they list the rodeo happening at the Civic Center the same weekend as the monster trucks.
ReplyDeleteThe staff located on the central office site needs a complete overhaul.....remove them all and hire all new...... I do believe students, fresh out of high school coul do a better job.
ReplyDeleteJoe, you would not think that the DT had sold out, that is why the rack was empty.

I heard it on good word that he appointed board members are going to renew Superintendent John Fredicksen's contract at the next board meeting. It appears to me that none of them have the guts to vote no against him in public. What a shame we have in our appointed board members. Fredericksen needs to go!!
anonymous 7:03, the rack isn't empty, IT'S GONE! They removed the entire thing. Even the owner of the Deli was amazed that they just took it.
ReplyDeleteeasy credits a rip-off!!
ReplyDeleteJanuary 25, 2012 9:27 PM
You're close. It's 'easy credit rip offs'.
Speaking of which how do I stop these idiots from leaving their stupid "Wicomico Weekly" papers in my driveway every week? I don't want them, I don't ask for them, and they do nothing but trash up my yard! I've called them and they said they'd stop but they don't...any thoughts???
ReplyDelete9:11 - After numerous calls for them to stop dropping that crap in my driveway, I started collecting them. onece I had several, I went to the Daily Grimes and dumped them on their parking lot. They got the hint then.
ReplyDeleteDo you love the example of total honesty when the Board was scaring us with the chance of a four day school week? That's against state law. Manipulation at its finest.
ReplyDeleteI was at that meeting and saw their reporter. She was wearing a turtleneck to hide her vampire scar. Everyone at The Daily Times is a vampire-- blood suckers.
ReplyDeleteAnon 9:11
ReplyDeleteThis is a good issue to bring up to the County/City Council.
They did this in Delmar too and Delmar's elected officials told them they were no longer to drop those papers in Delmar!
People don't read them, it's obvious!
I think they should be hit with littering fines!
Littering fines to the Daily Times! Great idea. Stupid gossip rag for people like Mike Dunn and Laura Mitchell anyway.
ReplyDelete12:40 am. It is interesting that information regarding the reappointed of Dr. "Fredickson" has "LEAKED". I do believe the board is cowardly as it relates to the renewing of his contract. However, I believe if this community has reason to share as to why he should NOT or should be renewed, it needs to be shared with this board. In the event you are fearful to use your name, due to retaliation, send snail mail anonymously. It would also be a great thing to know who is supporting the superintendent. Please do our community a justice and share your concerns. If not, its going to be another long, hard four years. On another note, "superiors" at the boe use manipulation and deceit often. I was told by my supervisor that I would "lose my job" if I stood up for a family! Against the law, for sure. But go figure!
ReplyDeleteFirst, 12:14, those who are calling for not renewing his contract have to be able to cite specific things. One thing cannot be his plan for a new BMS, because he has the backing of a sizeable part of the population on that. It has to be specific proof of malfeasance in office, not because you don't like him or his decisions. He's here to lead, and he may make decisions not pleasing to everybody. So what, specifically, has he done to merit dismissal? This is the same thing that is going on in Somerset County. The new superintendent has suggested consolidating Crisfield and Washington Highs. The Crisfielders, particularly, want to have her kicked out at the end of this year because she has made a proposal not to their liking. It has to be more than that to get rid of her.
ReplyDeleteIt would be unfair to ask for a superintendent of schools to tell the truth, abide by policies and procedures, care about children, be man enough to own up to wrongdoing......
ReplyDeleteWhen Jon Andes announced his retirement as sup. of Worcester schools, the DT article had a quote by an employee saying that Mr. Andes had never threatened anyone during all of his years as sup. Never threatened a single person. All counties should be so lucky.
