As the federal government relaxes some of its requirements under the No Child Left Behind law, Delaware is set to request a waiver exempting schools from strict test standards.
Delaware Secretary of Education Lillian Lowery joined President Barack Obama, U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan and other educators in September when the new flexibility in achievement standards was first announced.
