WASHINGTON - A man who donated sperm in the D.C. area a decade ago recently discovered he is the father to more than 70 children.
"When I was in law school, I was a sperm donor, and I donated anonymously for like three years," says Ben, who donated at the Fairfax Cryobank and told his story in a documentary that airs for the first time next week.
When a man donates sperm, he's given an identifying number so his name can remain anonymous.
But not long ago, Ben decided to post his donor number on the Donor Sibling Registry, a website that helps people connect with their biological relatives.
"To date, I know of around 70 kids," Ben says.

well good, he can start making those child support payments.
ReplyDeletehe's not a father, a father is someone who's there to raise you and teach you. he's just a piece of dna reduced to it's basis. nothing more than throwup in the gutter of life that someone pulled from the garbage and used to further their own wants needs and desires! guess he never thought of what he may be subjecting his progeny to. ever thought maybe God new what he was doing when he didn't give some people the ability to procreate? SAD!
ReplyDeleteI certainly hope for his sake that he doesn't have to support 70 kids But we can't say that he became a father unwittingly because he donated the sperm, knowing that there would be children as a result. At $500 per donation, we did make out well in paying for his education!
ReplyDeletebusy little bee isn't he. he must have been really broke. o well; all part of our current, degraded, obscene, repulsive, perverted culture.
