It was announced yesterday that the State of Maryland brought in some $1.6 billion in revenue from slot machines. Here's the kicker...
$500,000,000.00 went to the state, GO FIGURE.
$50,000,000.00 went to Education, HELLOOOOO!
The announcement seemed to pretty much end there, or that's what the MSM wanted you to know anyway. That being the case, where's the rest. Because the MAJORITY of their viewers are rednecks working in the chicken industry, (that's what their consultants told them, so don't bark at me) doesn't mean they, nor anyone else is that stupid.
Then I start to question the numbers that they DID announce. $500,000,000.00 to the state. Please tell me why we're raising Tolls everywhere then. Please tell me why the sales tax is still at 6%. Please tell me why O'Malley continues to steal our highway tax money to care for Wicomico County roads.
Then I just about threw the remote at the TV when they mentioned $50,000,000.00 given to education. You have got to be BS'ing me! All those WET PANTS LIBERALS bragging about EDUCATION yet they got SH!T on by O'Malley once again. I started asking around last night what people thought about these numbers and the very first thing out of every one's mouth was, wasn't the majority of that money supposed to go to education!
Welcome to the real world of politics and not some feel good, butt kissing television station with their head up their rear ends not willing to ASK questions and do even the slightest investigative reporting and or spend time looking deeper into the numbers. Oh, that's right, Salisbury News will do all that for you.
$50,000,000.00 isn't JACK, O'Malley! Not when you bring in $1.67 Billion in revenue.
Doesn't anybody get it? Regardless of the amount of money brought in, liberals will find a way to spend it. They always say it will go to education to justify getting their hands on it in the first place. Seems to me that the justified MD Lottery the same way.
ReplyDeleteIt's also the same way they justify tax increases ("If we don't
raise taxes, education budget will have to be cut".) All of it BS. I'm surprised that anyone is surprised by this.
They do not care about education they care about paying there big salaries and lining there pockets nobody matters but them.
ReplyDeleteWill this now wake you up? if not die in a fire slowly...
ReplyDeleteI say it time in and time out, govt workers, small or big lie... PERIOD...
They ONLY TELL you what you WANT you HEAR... PERIOD... yet Americans are still ignorant to these tactics...
At this point who give a flying flip... It has been done this way and will continue to until we revolt like Egypt...
Surprised? People keep falling for every line (translation: lie) that these lying, theiving, bribe-taking, elitist, self-serving MONGRELS tell them and then get mad when the lies are exposed? And DON'T get mad when the politicians try to explain their lies with MORE LIES that insult the intelligence (and memory) of the people they claim to "represent"? How many hundreds of millions went to O'Malley's friends? Kickbacks to bribe givers (translation: campaign contributors)? Hugely inflated prices/costs to contractors (also on the "friends" list)? "Unaccounted for" and outright missing funds? They (politicians) KNOW all you are going to do is whine for a while. You'll soon forget and they will keep getting rich. And keep stealing. And you'll keep believing the next guy is going to "change" things....LOL! hold their feet to the fire?? I suggest we throw them INTO the fire....
ReplyDeleteState money accounts for almost half the funding of the WCBOE.
ReplyDeleteso 1.6 billion in revenue. So that minus 550 million = another billion dollars. Where did that go?
ReplyDeleteJoe, I just found the announcement that you are referring to. The revenues you state are for the entire Maryland lottery...not slots. And, as you know, the allocation of funds are different for the two. With that said, I know you won't post this comment, and I know you wont correct your post. For what its worth, I like your blog and read it every day. I just think that accuracy is important.
ReplyDeleteanonymous 1:26, with all due respect, you're wrong. There's no mention of the Lottery whatsoever. Thanks for sharing.

ReplyDeleteI was wondering the same thing. I thought maybe the rest went to the casino but it says 1.6 billion in revenue for the state....so as you asked.... where did the rest go.
Joe, you could clear this up with the link I sent you earlier. Why don't you? I am not claiming you are wrong with what you posted. I am saying the TV station gave false info if they said $1.6 Billion from slots. I looked it up on the internet because I could not believe slots could generate that much revenue in less than a year. With all due respect I think you owe your viewers the truth.
