Delaware Suspends License of Claymont Physician

State officials this week ordered an emergency suspension of Claymont doctor Timothy Wong’s medical license for committing serious violations of the Delaware Medical Practice Act.

Secretary of State Jeffrey Bullock and Board of Medical Licensure and Discipline President Raymond L. Moore, Sr. ordered the suspension based on a formal complaint issued by the Delaware Attorney General’s Office, Delaware Department of State spokesman Christopher Portante said.

The order maintains that Dr. Wong, who has been on licensure probation since March 1, 2011, has engaged in activities that present a clear and immediate danger to the public health, Portante said. Wong’s specialty is family practice, but he practices mainly pain management.

Wong has continually prescribed controlled substances to patients without conducting proper medical examinations, without creating and maintaining proper records or logs, without ordering tests, without requesting medical records, without contacting patients' primary care or other treating physicians, without obtaining patients' informed consent, and with little or no discussion or establishment of any underlying medical or psychiatric basis or need for medication, the Complaint and Motion for Emergency Suspension alleges, among other things. He also allegedly abandoned hundreds of patient medical files at his Claymont office, refused to provide medical records to treating physicians and patients and falsified patient medical records.

  1. some people have no idea how bad this is right now.. half the doctors on the shore need to be shut down because of this same exact thing but it doesn't happen and people continue to abuse them. if the dr's did close, the people who are on them have 2 choices- stop or switch to a new drug, which would most likely be cocaine or heroin. it's an absolute shame.

  2. Wait. Hold up. Are you saying that if the patients on pain meds were forced to stop taking them, they would turn to HEROIN?? Thats funny. Funnier still is them turning to cocaine! Unless they have a toothache, cocaine ain't gonna help with the pain, unless it the pain of depression (as in "I'm so sad that I can't get Percoset for my herniated discs"). More likely scenario? The Law of Supply and Demand (the same law that says pot will NEVER be eradicated -- NEVER) will take over and those patients will be buying them from crooked pharmacists, or street dealers. THAT would be the shame.

  3. What is more amazing is the fact that when you visit your gynocologist, the first thing they ask is, so how bad is your pms? When you tell them that if you get enough rest and eat well, you are fine, they still try to push mild antidepressants on you for pms.
People need to take responsibility for their health and not let the doctor's become pushers.

  4. The medical profession has no idea what they are doing about chronic pain.

The ones who do abuse pain meds make the ones who truly need it look bad.

I read an article awhile back about pain treatment. While the conventional thinking was much like the uninformed person saying to shut down doctors, they are finally, but slowly, recognizing the needs of the chronic pain sufferers.

No one understands it until they are affected. Then you may realize that pain management doctors are worth their weight in gold.

Punish the drug seekers and the doctors who knowingly supply them. Leave the legitimate ones alone. Please.

  5. That's funny how a small click of people can decide to destroy a Doctors life because they take a fine focus on doing just that. A man that dedicated his "life" to care for patients and did so quite well. I know this because I have had the opportunity to see him at work on many occasions. I have also seen him for myself because of what I seen in him treating his patients. I have known him personally for 20 years now. Something that people don't know about him is he has a photogenic memory. Another thing most people don't know is that "ALL Doctors" have issues with keeping viable records. It's just a fact. In this time they use the computer which places generic statements which can be widely used for many different situations/treatments. So please don't give me this garbage that these people have written about him.

  6. Timothy Wong was Destroyed by a small group of people that really have no idea what it is like being a Doctor caring for real patients. They twisted the "truth" and in some case simply "Lied". Like this Statement they have in this writing. I have taken a great deal of interest in this. I have spoke to nearly 50 other Doctors about this ""Panel" who can destroy Doctors lively-hood, their dedication to caring for their patients. And all were off the record. -i promised that I would not provide their names in what they shared. In short, they ""all"" live with the fear of providing pain medication for their patients. That the patients suffer because of it. Patients that actually need pain medications to maintain a quality of life because of the pain they unfortunately suffer from. i also have taken it upon myself to investigate these members of this particular panel and have found that some --at the same time they persecuted this man-- were on pain medications from their Dr. I have also found some disturbing information that two members of this panel are perverted in a sexual manner. I wanted to bring this forward but Mr. Wong would not allow me to provide this information to the public. It's just the kind of man he is. Back to what i learned from these Doctors. This panel has the ability to destroy ""ANY DOCTOR" with accusations and the Doctor has to pay for his own defense. Because their liability INS.. can not be use for thee is no formal charges. So, if a Doctor that cares for the lower income people has no way to pay for his/her defense. It is simply way too expensive. Again, i have taken it upon myself to find the funds to do this for this upstanding Doctor but by the time I was able to provide this kind of financial assistance for him, it was too late. The damage was already done. One thing that I do know is this. The day will come when they too will be judged and when that day happens, it will be too late for them to make a difference in what will indeed be their fate. Karma has a way of always bringing justice to those who devastates another mans/woman's well being.

  7. I have see the faces of many that are shown who and what they are and what is to come. That will not be the man they slander in here, it will be them. Doctors will not stand up to this panel because they are too afraid that they will point in their direction. They know how deviant and unqualified they really are. They problem is that they have no accountability and so they continue un-feathered for now anyways. Even with thousands of pages of detailed information, there is not one Doctor that will put their many years of education, dedication and practice on the line to stop them. I can see why. And this happens in America. It's shameful. But as I have said, their day will indeed come. I doubt they will print this but it was nice to be able to inform them that he was never alone and has good decent people that care and know the actual truth in who and what this man really is. If he would just allow me to go forward, I would be able to destroy your lives for years to come. But he is so much better than you. So sleep well in knowing that you help thousands of good decent people suffer from a painful daily existence all because you exist.
