  1. Why make the working class permit holder pay $5 more when you can park for 2 hrs FREE across from the library, FREE by the Feldman's building and FREE down by District Court where social services was once located or the old Ramada parking lot? Private property, city can't do anything about it. Doesn't make sense making the hard working employee being over taxed, furloughed, and health insurance increasing.

  3. no mention of any new cuts. only a bland description of what "has been done". So basically, again the City residents have to pay for the failures of the treatment plant.......

where is the 2012 cuts at?

  4. The $60,000,000 repair legacy left by Barrie and her staff.
Look for annual sewer fee increases to pay for it.

  8. REALLY????? 27,000 for 4 new police cruisers???? For what?? So the Salisbury City Police can continue to cruise up and down Church St and on West Side and having pow-wows w/ the dealers and prostitutes???? I see the same two cops EVERY night when I am working nights, cruising around, doing nothing. If I can ride down Church St. on my way home and know a dealer and a prostitute from an average Joe, why can't they....?? Especially WHEN THAT IS THEIR JOB!!!!

  12. So the city has $11 million in SURPLUS, but have forced employees to take furlough days to the tune of $3 million? What gives?

  13. Hey, 3:32 PM, since I'm not working downtown anymore, do what we did, two people go in on a permit and one of you just keep last months permit in the window, just don't park to close by each other, this way you cut the cost in half.

  14. Don't blame this on the council members...this has Ireton written all over it. This is an attack on property owners. I don't know who should be more embarrassed...Obama supporters or Ireton supporters.

  15. What kind of brand new police cars can you buy and get 4 of them for $27,000 total? State contract price for the Crown Vic/new police interceptor from Ford is over $20,000.
