Ocean City To Rebuild Boardwalk With All Wood

OCEAN CITY, Md. (AP) — The Ocean City Town Council has voted to rebuild the resort’s deteriorating boardwalk with an all-wood deck.

The 5-2 vote on Monday means a two-year, multimillion-dollar renovation project will start this year.

  1. Multimillion dollar renovation - what a waste of money. Look what that money could do for local citizens who don't even know how they are going to keep their home or where their next meal is going to come from.

  2. Most expensive rebuild material with the shortest lifespan. WINNING

Call me cold hearted, but I am tired of paying for people to keep their homes. Why is it that every time a large amount of money gets spent on something, people come out of the wood work complaining that people are losing their homes, and have no food?

This renovation is needed, whether you agree with the materials being used or not.

  5. They need to collect funds from the property owners in back of the boardwalk for maintenance and replacement instead of paying for it on the backs of taxpayers!

  6. How about they add a dollar to parking for those using the boardwalk? That should pay for it.

  7. The property owners "in back of the boardwalk" don't own it 11:33.
Why should they have to pay for maintenance and replacement? Under your logic you should be paying for road maintenance and replacement in front/in back of your home. The boardwalk isn't private property.

  8. This renovation may be needed, but who in the heck is gonna walk on it when no one can afford Ocean City any longer - the dogs?
