Last week I received a call about a pot hole on Rt. 13 that was growing. I contacted a Councilman and they contacted State Highway to put a steel plate over the hole.
Today I received another call referencing this pot hole. The person told me it was the size of a pickup truck. Of course I thought, can't be.
Give me 10 minutes and I'll provide photos of this massive sink hole across from the construction at the College in the North bound lane on Rt. 13. The hold is 13' wide and 20' long. It's at least 3' to 4' deep too.
There are no pipes underneath the hole, so the State Highway people are at a loss as to how the hold started and then ultimately grew to the size that it is now.
Is this in Dover, Salisbury or the Eastern Shore of Virginia?

ReplyDeleteIf it wasn't from Salisbury don't you think Joe would have posted the location?
Man, I'm sure glad none of the college students who cross there all the time didn't end up in it!

ReplyDeleteTo quote Mr. Paul Harvey: "And now the rest of the story" Under this large hole two pipes were located approx 10 to 12' below the road. These pipes had a hole that sucked the dirt out. May i suggest you have as much information as u can before you publish.
