  4. I'm not happy they took out the crushed ice machine. I love that ice in my soda. By the way, they need to get Pepsi in there.

  5. Normal for our society. My husband and I were driving by the Burger King in Ocean City their sign - "Free Fries Wit a (some type of burger). And we wonder why people can not spell.

  6. Come on folks. We all make mistakes. Don't we?

  7. Why do we expect more prefection in others than we do in ourselves?

  8. I have to agree about the crushed ice machine. You can't find that type of crushed ice anywhere. It makes a drink!

  9. ha ha ha this stuff is just too funny!!!

  10. Only on the eastern shore!! There isnt a real high standard for most things around here. If you cant see it you've been here too long.

  11. Citygoer, I take offense in your comment. I have lived on the Eastern Shore all of my life and very proud of it. As a matter of fact I pride myself in being a compassionate, energetic, and most of all great 5th grade teacher. Oh, and by the way - Eastern Shore is a proper noun so you should use capital letters!

If you are unhappy surely the city will welcome you back.

  12. So typical of consumers... you go to sam's club for the cheapest possible prices you can get anywhere, but you expect them to be paying proficient, brilliant, over-qualified employees that are absolutely exhilarating at their jobs every day.

  13. They spelled it like they said it-out er order!!

  14. 12:53 my comment isnt aimed towards you. In my 8 yrs of living here Ive met more inept, content to be stupid ppl than I care to count. Ive also met some great ppl but unfortunately alot of the "pride" that many of the born heres feel is mostly due to the ignorance of never living anywhere else. The places where Ive lived wouldnt have had issues like we have here because the general public expects more. Here, that unfortunately isnt the case. Just look at the horrible local crime and half-a$$ed public services that we are forced to deal with. Anywhere else there would be local news specials and public lawsuits etc. calling these corrupt local politicians out. Here, everyone denies everything and makes constant excuses for ANYTHING negative. Dont confuse denial with pride.

Thanks for fixing my "errors". I'm glad you take pride in this area, unfortunately you are one of the few.

  15. I bet it is down now. You know they are on here.

  16. I just checked the dictionary. OR is spelled correctly!

  17. 12:08 you are precisely right. and that includes those who are educating our youth, and their Administrators too.

Citygoer just lives to make people miserable. He chose to move here yet complains all the time. Why he doesn't move is beyond me.

Joe we saw this sign the other day in there. A gentleman ask the lady in the cafe if it was the soda or the ice that was out of order or both. She just about bit his head off. She's grumpy every time she waits on you.

  19. Insult people for a typo!! God people get over yourselves

  20. welcome to Baltmer.

  21. citigoer must have some low self esteem going on... He feels so superior to shore residents but if he truly was he would have the intelligence to live somewhere else. The truth is the shore-man out think him at every turn and he lives in a constant state of disbelief.

    ReplyDelete
  22. 6:00 thanks for proving my 2:04 post true. If you honestly think that what I said isnt even partly true you need to look around. I dont live to make anyone miserable. Whats so humerous about your statement is that Ive met more deeply disgruntled ppl in the time Ive lived here than I ever met anywhere else. They must be trying to make everyone miserable too. Look at the fighting within the city council, the war zone that Salisbury is or even the constant bickering on this blog. Ive had conversations with plenty of born heres that have noticed the lack of caring with the general public here. ITS NOT JUST ME THAT FEELS THIS WAY.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I dont think citygoer feels superior to anyone. He's merely stating how he feels about some of the poorly performed local services.... Instead of bashing this person try listening to the voice of reason.....

I partly agree. Salisbury is a depressed city and has been for years. All of you blatant defenders think its great? You people are nuts if you do.

  24. 7:20 Im sure some shoremen do out think me. No single person is the smartest. Where did I ever say I was superior?

    ReplyDelete
  25. It is hard to believe that the person that put this sign up was looking right at the computer screen, printed it, took the time to put it in the plastic sleeve, carry it out to the machine and look at it as they were taping it up, yet they still did not notice the typo. Or that they were just too lazy to walk back to the office and make another one. And by the way I had my 7th grader proof read this for me before I posted it, so yes our teachers are doing a good job.

He is not voice of reason. No one made him move here. He continues to stay just so he can try to feel superior. My guess is he couldn't make it in the city so he came here thinking he would be superior. WRONG AGAIN. There are good and bad in this area but here is also good and bad in all areas. Do you think Baltimore CITY has no faults? How about NYC? Would you rather live there than here? Well there is a bridge heading West and a road heading North have at it. I will stay here. Even with all its faults it's till better than a lot of places out there.

    ReplyDelete
  27. All cities have faults, isnt that obvious. My God you people have this guy figured out, don't you?? I see how the mentality of the local people take offense to this but at least understand that there is another perspective out there. If citygoers claims don't apply to you then what difference does it really make?

    1:17 PM

    Not so fast there, 1:17!

Sam's Club requires membership dues, and that by itself makes it a premium place to shop. I pay dearly for the "privilege" to shop there, and I expect better service, intelligent employees, and enough of `em to do their jobs efficiently.

I expect that broken drink dispensers would be repaired in a timely fashion. I would also expect that any signage would be proofread, and replaced when it was discovered that grammatical errors exist.

If all these things can't be done, then it's time to shop where I don't have to pay just to get in the door!

  29. citigoer Your snarky attitude says it all. If you don't like the people here then why don't you go somewhere that you can find intellectual equivalency like California.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I just have question for Citygoer and people with his/her attitude. Why did you move here? Did your job bring you here, or was it because you liked the area. If it is because you liked the area, then why do you want it to be like where you came from. Why not just move back there?

To the commenter trying to say that because you pay membership to Sams they should be hiring rocket scientists,.....are you insane? Why do you think the prices are low. Because they hire entry level. It was a typo, big friggin deal. I have typed things before when I was in a hurry and didn't realize that something was spelled wrong. I even put a sign up upside down one day. Although I am no rocket scientist, I am not ignorant. Mistakes happen. I certainly hope that everyone that found fault in this one doesn't make any mistakes of any kind. Glad to know that we have such perfect people around here. (especially since they all started migrating from PA, NY, and Glen Burnie)

    ReplyDelete
  31. 9:12 how do you know that California residents are so intellectual?

I fail to see citygoers attitude. You people are pathetic. Its obvious everyone here has an agenda to push, they can't even take constructive criticism. Newsflash everyone, the shore aint perfect. Instead of attacking someone else get off your lazy butt and fix the crime and gang problem we have. While your at it, lets get some of these local public schools to meet MD's basic test requirements. Remember, there were quite a few local schools that tested below the state average, not too good. Wait, instead we will attack a stranger on a blog...great idea.

    ReplyDelete
  32. 9:47, No one said the shore is perfect, however, I don't appreciate it when people generalize this area and stereotype us as a bunch of country bumpkins. Citygoer said "Only on the eastern shore!! There isnt a real high standard for most things around here. If you cant see it you've been here too long.". If that isn't an egotistical and arrogant comment I don't know what is. As far as attacking a stranger on a blog, isn't that what happens on here everyday? I am just a little fed up with the self righteous and superior attitudes of some of our new "neighbors".

    ReplyDelete
  33. 9:47 We all know your citygoer and you are on this blog all the time insulting the locals. California is full of idiots and thought you would fit right in with your self-righteous attitude and twisted comments.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Citygoer never makes a comment using his name unless its to bash the locals. If I disliked a place so much I think I would move. He just likes to try to feel superior. Sorry its not working. You just make yourself look like a kid that likes to whine.

    ReplyDelete
  35. If these flagrant defenders of the shore put as much time into their community as they did into hating the come heres this area would be a much better place to live. Dont get me wrong, I like it here, but some of the long time locals are downright unfriendly to anyone who doesn't have the same ideas. So a strangers comments' on this blog upsets everyone on here but numerous unsolved armed robberies, home invasions and local homicides are ok? Nothing is being done about any of those issues yet everyone is on here attacking a nobody. No wonder nothing seems to get done. People are always blaming someone else.

  36. 9:08 you consider your $30 a year or whatever it costs a premium membership? You high roller.
