This show features an interview with George Whitehead of Salisbury's Promise on the fourth 100 Best Communities For Young People Award for Salisbury and Wicomico County, and Salisbury City Administrator John Pick on Salisbury being named an All America City. Also featured on the show is an interview on the 20/20 reading initiative, with Dr. Carolyn Johnston, supervisor of reading for Wicomico Schools and chair of the Wicomico County Reading Committee, and Patricia Blevins, coordinator of reading for Wicomico Schools. "The Reading Song," written by Pinehurst Elementary teachers John Cox and Derek Perdue for the 20/20 initiative, is accompanied by video of students at Pinehurst and at Pittsville Elementary and Middle reading. A Safe Walk to School event at Salisbury Middle School is also highlighted.
"Working Together for Children" airs regularly at 6:30 p.m. Thursdays and noon Saturdays; check the Programming grid at www.pac14.org for additional times. PAC 14 also streams its programming live on its web site at www.pac14.org, so viewers can visit the web site to "tune in" on line when the show is on the air.
