I just heard a section of Perdue Farms Corporate Offices are moving out ot Salisbury to Seaford. Has anyone else heard the same?
UPDATE: We've now been told corporate headquarters is undergoing huge renovation, what is being moved is a small part of their agribusiness section.
cant really blame em
ReplyDeleteGo Jim Boy.
ReplyDeletecoperate offices are not IN salisbury...they are on Old OC Road
ReplyDeleteMaybe if they move OUT of salisbury the council can get UMES to open a kitchen to teach students how to process chicken.
About as dumb as teaching students how to cook and serve food at the firehouse.
A little travelling music, please . . . and away we go!
ReplyDeleteSo am I. And so do you, Mr. A. We will be lucky if they don't relocate further away such as the Carolinas.
ReplyDeleteJoe:
ReplyDeletePerdue has been moving "out of Salisbury" (also away from Wicomico County and the Shore) for years now. Look at their out of state (and off-Delmarva) locations.
Whenever they are bought out by a bigger firm it's goodbye forever, suckers.
Can you say "Dresser"?
And sell them Perdue's office complex for $150,000.
ReplyDeleteI always said that when Perdue leaves Maryland it will be the final nail in Marylands coffin.
ReplyDeleteThanks governor crook.
you cant tell me that no one could see this coming... Cant blame them if they do move, what with all the regulations on the poultry and farming industry.. Now its practically impossible to build new chicken houses.. Perdue is only doing what they have to do to stay in buisness.. But if they do move I also think it will be further than DE..
ReplyDeletedelaware offers best bang for buck to any corp.on shore ,with best education and tax advantages...pretty soon the salisbury city council will have it all to themselves with the govt paying for it..the council sounds like a dog whistle....hear it.get it.
ReplyDeleteYou'll note that this was announced just after the election, when it became apparent that there will be 4 more years of O'Malley.
ReplyDeleteThis state is business-HOSTILE.
Trying to draw businesses to Maryland is a waste of time/money.
take the illegals with yea!
ReplyDeleteI'm telling you within 15 years there will be no poultry business on Delmarva. With all the environmental regulations, and Obamacare, etc. It will simply be too costly. All of our chicken will be imported from China, where they don't have to worry about the enviroment and labor is $0.38 an hour.
ReplyDeleteI believe as long as mama Perdue (not the second wife) is still alive, I believe they will stay in Salisbury. She still wants it to be in Salisbury.
ReplyDeleteRemember Norm Conways co-sponsoring the Fair Share Health Act. This served Notice to all legtimate businesses to start looking elsewhere.
ReplyDeleteI can't say I blame them. The handwriting is on the wall - Maryland is very hostile environment to businesses - period.
if they were leaving why would they be remodeling their corporate offices? They have moved some of their personnel to the old Circuit City Bldg while this renovation is being done - doesn't make sense
ReplyDeleteand, if they moved all their operations done in Wicomico county elsewhere, they'd spend alot of money re-building plants etc.
don't think so
good riddance, but sue them before they leave for for the cost of the cleanup to the land and water they have made millions while destroying our environment!
ReplyDeleteWhat environment has perdue destroyed? Has the influx of come-heres made Salisbury dumber?
ReplyDeleteIf the stinking Liberals that move to the shore from DC and Baltimore don't like the environmental conditions they can move back and stay with rest of the trash in DC and Baltimore.
ReplyDeleteJoe, it is true. Its just the Perdue AgriBusiness location on Zion Church Road. It only effects about 100 people. Has been in the works for about a year. Should be on WBOC tonight.
ReplyDeleteWe better hope and pray the Poultry industry doesn't leave the area. Perdue provides jobs jobs jobs!
ReplyDeletethere are more mexicans there for them to employ
ReplyDeletePerdue will soon leave the shore there are to many regulations for them to keep producing chickens here. They have made all these new regulations on top of the old regulations. Its always been the growers blamed for pollution of our bays. What about Baltimore contributing waste to ours bays and what about Salisbury Waste water going into our rivers. The environmentalist need to look at other areas and leave poultry alone. The growers abide by the the EPA laws what about everyone else. My husband has been a poultry grower for 30 years and we have abided to all regulations set by EPA and Soil Conservation and all goverment agencies. The enviromentalist will be the cause of loss of jobs this time to our shore they just keep sticking there noses in a little deeper each year.
