Mayor James Ireton, Jr. announced today that the city will celebrate the swearing-in of a Salisbury Police Department Chief, Salisbury Fire Department Chief and an Information Technology Department Director. Per the City of Salisbury Charter SC 20-1, department heads take an oath of office administered by the Wicomico County Clerk of the Circuit Court, Mark Bowen.
“With City Council’s approval of Chief Duncan, Chief Simpson, and IT Director John Wright, the city has all the department head positions filled. On behalf of our citizens I welcome them to our Salisbury family.
I know they are committed to making our city safer and in making government more efficient as we deliver services to our citizens. I invite the public to join us at their swearing in ceremony this Wednesday evening,” said Mayor Ireton.
The ceremony will take place Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. at the Salisbury Fire Station on Cypress Street.
Help is on the way! Jim Ireton has done such a great job as Mayor of Salisbury, business is thriving, everyone is getting along, crime is down, jobs are flocking into the downtown area. I cn't wait to vote for Jim again! Have I ever told you that when I hear Jim speak I get a tingle up my leg?
ReplyDeleteWell jim is the good time party mayor, just stop by flavors of italy on a fri night and he'll take his shirt off and wave it around his head like an idiot for all to see.
ReplyDeleteI have a better idea. Why don't we have a going away party for Jeff Simpson. This guy is already spending tax dollars and making enemies!! Way to go Jim Beau!!
ReplyDeleteThe best thing the new Fire Chief can do is bang his head real hard against the brick wall of S-16. This will help prepare him for what is ahead in his short career with City politics.
ReplyDeleteCouldn't this have been done at a city council meeting or work session? Why is every thing a party and photo opportunity for Jim Liarton? How much is this costing the tax payers? Why does it have to be at the new fire station in the ghetto? Is the city reimbursing Wicomico County Clerk of the Circuit Court Mark Bowen for his time while off the clock? What a joke this has turned into!!
ReplyDeleteJeff Simpson!!! HaHaHa, what a big Joke! You guys have been snowballed!!
ReplyDeleteBill Gordy and Hoppes should be the ones going there to be sworn in!
