Disappointed Supporters Question Obama

It was billed as “Investing in America,” a live televised conversation on the state of the economy between President Obama and American workers, students, business people and retirees, a kind of Wall Street to Main Street reality check.

But it sounded like a therapy session for disillusioned Obama supporters.

In question after question during a one-hour session, which took place on Monday at the Newseum here and was televised on CNBC, Mr. Obama was confronted by people who sounded frustrated and anxious — even as some said they supported his agenda and proclaimed themselves honored to be in his presence.

People from Main Street wanted to know if the American dream still lived for them. People on Wall Street complained that he was treating them like a piñata, “whacking us with a stick,” in the words of Anthony Scaramucci, a former law school classmate of Mr. Obama’s who now runs a hedge fund and was one of the president’s questioners.

“I’m exhausted of defending you, defending your administration, defending the mantle of change that I voted for,” said the first questioner, an African-American woman who identified herself as a chief financial officer, a mother and a military veteran. “I’ve been told that I voted for a man who was going to change things in a meaningful way for the middle class and I’m waiting sir, I’m waiting. I still don’t feel it yet.”

  1. Good for that woman who spoke out. I am tired of these politicians saying whatever they need to say to become elected then develop amnesia when it comes to getting the work done.

  2. Bam! How many of us Americans want to say the same thing to this man?
Where's the CHANGE for the BETTER?
I don't know that we'll ever get it from any President simply because of what "holding elected office" has come to mean.
It means to me that you can milk the taxpayers and do nothing and sit pretty for the rest of your life on the taxpayers dollar!
I want people who are willing to DO the JOB!
As soon as ANY politician utters the words "I promise", they're off my voting card. It doesn't matter to me which office or seat their running for.
Don't promise me anything, just do it! Failed promises make me angry!

  9. Obama is learning that old adage is true....you can fool all of the people some of the time...some of the people all of the time...but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time.

He is an incompetent. It's really that simple. He was in no way qualified to be President and everyday more and more people are realizing that they voted for a fraud.

  10. Folks, imagine yourself as an angry, selfish, arrogant, coddled, know-it-all teenager. You're protected at every turn and fall for every bit of leftist claptrap you hear. But then you fail at everything you try in real life, so you lie about the failures and blame it on everybody except yourself. Imagine all of that and you are getting close to the mind-set of Barack Obama.

  12. In ten years, when we have an economy that is roaring and we are again leaders in education and technology, and historians point to a direct correllation between that success and decisions made today, I want to hear a giant collective "I was wrong" from all you GOP whores who tow the party line

Are you kidding me? If the Republicans gain control and or get back into the white house in the next 10 years, whatever positives were left in place will all be gone AGAIN!
If the Republicans get the presidency back - you can bet your bottom dollar we'll strike Iran and we'll be consumed into ANOTHER war.
They are war mongers, plain and simple. They believe like in the old days where war made this country strong and put people to work. They don't bother to look around and see these TWO wars have done nothing but tear our country down and put NOBODY back to work because everything is now imported!
