China: One-Child Policy Will Stand

Beijing, China (CNN) -- China will not drop its one-child policy, officials say, 30 years after Beijing decreed the population-control measure.

"I, on behalf of the National Population and Family Planning Commission, extend profound gratitude to all, the people in particular, for their support of the national course," said Li Bin, who leads the commission.

"So we will stick to the family-planning policy in the coming decades," she said over the weekend, according to the state-run China Daily.

An estimated 400 million births have been prevented by the policy, according to official statistics.

  1. Now if we can do this in America to stop paying for Uncle Sam babies we would have a money surplus in 10 years.

  2. Except since they instituted this law, they have been selectively aborting female babies. So now they have an unequal male to female ratio. Too many males and not enough females to marry.

  3. we need that law here...no more state or federal aid after your first.

  4. They need to pass this law to include everyone on welfare!

  5. Tax$$=You....You pay their rent, you buy their food, you buy their illegitimate babies diapers, you pay for their booze, you pay for their cigarettes, you pay them to NOT WORK and lay horizontal all day long watching TV and waiting for their drug dealing croch grabbers to knock em up again. Ever see them in the line ahead of you buying their groceries? Bet they eat better than you, bet they don't care about coupons or swiping that discount tag. Why should they, your footing the whole bill. They're NOT paying taxes, they don't have an income, your more than willing to pay their share, being a true American. Who's got the real political representation? Those croch grabbers want to turn your future grandchildren into Obams's and you'll be footing the bill all the way. Sweet deal ain't it?

  6. I hate welfare freeloaders as much as anyone, but it's actually only about 2% of the federal budget it's not what is single handedly crippling our economy.

  7. Thanks 3:17 for a little perspective. These dummies will chase the "welfare queens in cadillacs" myth all the way to our fiscal ruin.

  8. 3:17 I rented section 8 a few years and you would not beleave how these people live. the more babies the more money. the state was paying the rent not federal gov. elec was paid, food was paid, they lied about the number of childern they had and if caught nothing was done.
now factor in the drugs, court time, police visits, kids on food programs in school those kids pregnet at 16. they tear the house up in 12 months and move to the next. you would spend more fixing up your house than you would make. the poor free-loaders are multiplying much faster than the working class, its all they know- the only way they know how to live. they are costing more than 2% have you checked what it cost to keep a person in prison for 1 year. have you factored all of this in your fed 2%? I paid to have my 2 children brought into this world its free for them. i work my butt off and payed my way and some of them not working live better than me. i did not proof read this so if something is spelled wrong or poor grammer it was because i went to school with some of these people. let me hold your pencil and can you carry me downtown, get it

  9. How much IS 2% of our budget? Sounds small doesn't it?...and I'm willing to bet that isn't correct....subsidized housing, free day care ($100/wk per child x how many kids???), free medical care (anyone know a CHEAP doctor?) for the entire family, teacher aides, free breakfast and lunch, free transportation, subsidized heat, A/C, and electricity, free job training (THATS been a BIG success), free college, free food, and DO NOT forget the biggest wealth transfer in the history of civilization - EVER --- the famous "Earned Income Credit" (who came up with THAT name? ..the same one who came up with "Independence Card" LOL!)...add all that up. And then add in SSI payment to millions of children who, because they won't sit down in claas and beat up other kids on the playground, are claasified as "disabled' and knock down about $700 a month from SSI until they are 18 years old. 2 per cent??? You MUST be joking...

  10. One child you are really dumb, Two you are stupid and get no more chances. Go to work and or school and you will have one year to work after graduation to pay back the state the money you have cost them.
Not teaching birth control, and I mean virginity too, is the dumbest damn thing we have done with the now wasted generation coming up in America. Very disillusioned with the world and I quit teaching

  11. I can understand the policy but i think they should modify it to TWO per couple,it is not a huge leap and it may alleviate the alarmingly high numbers of female infants aborted, abandoned or killed in China because of the strict policy.Besides, people really would not have more children than they could support in China, because even though it is Communist, everyone must do their share of work in that culture.
We do need to get a handle on our own population in the US.It is maddening to know that there are people my age who have 12 and 13 children who live in abject poverty, which leads to even more problems, because its unnessecary.

  13. A lot of people seem to believe in eugenics.

Behind it is the idea that there is a special "breed" of people who are qualitiatively better than the rest of the people. These people are destined to rule over the rest of us.

Most people believe this breed to be one of the 13 bloodlines of Royalty which has persisted for centuries. Most of our elected politicians are from one of these 13 bloodlines. The Bush Family is directly related to the Queen of England.

  14. Hey idiots, the 2% stat is similar to numbers that come either directly from any gov. report or independent analysis of the data. Mind you, we're talking about reports from conservative groups as well as Rep. administrations. Sorry you don't allow hard facts to change your uninformed opinions. No wonder we can't find any straight-talking leaders to elect
